I'm guessing this is the best place to put this, as the game isn't open yet - any hope of allowing genderswap AUs (ie, male character has always been female, but with no other changes in canon continuity) as well as male characters who have been swapped just within this game?

There are no plans to allow such AUs at the moment, but it's something we'll consider for the future if enough players are interested.

Of course, if a canon AU like that exists, players are welcome to apply from it.

Non-canon unfortunately. Thanks anyway!

I'm a little concerned about all these Nyotalia reserves. They seem like a thinly-veiled excuse to app male characters.

We're also a bit concerned, and we're taking action on that. Characters who haven't been drawn in the Nyotalia universe are being declined as reserves, and the rest will be treated as canon OCs and therefore have their applications scrutinized much more closely. If they put in a lot of effort and make it clear that they're applying for the female version as a canon OC rather than just a genderbent male version, they'll have a chance at approval. If they're using it as an excuse to apply for male characters, well, they'll get rejected.

We know that at least some of the reservers are genuinely interested in playing the female AU versions and are going to lengths to give them their own personalities, so we're not banning the Nyotalia reserves outright, but they will definitely be held to a high standard when the apps come in. As cultural entities, they're already under extra scrutiny as characters; as canon OCs, yet more is required of the apps. So by reserving Nyotalia, the players are setting themselves up for a tough application, not ( ... )

As the game is focused on pairings and romance, it might be nice if muns looking to app a character that makes up a canon pairing with somebody already in the game / already reserving gave that mun a friendly warning. While people are free to app whoever they want, it can make things awkward for people already playing as that sort of dynamic often changes their plans with the character in question.

You have a very good point. Added a note about it in the FAQ.

Hey y'all hey.

Just gonna add another comment for genderswap AUs. I like your take on it and think it's very creative, but it wouldn't work for me, personally. I don't want to play a "male Garterbelt who is now female but is totes cool with that," but a "female Garterbelt who has always been female and OU Panty and Stocking are just gonna have to Deal." If I may be so bold, I believe having both would be a good compromise!

Thank you for your time!

We've actually already added that option in response to player demand.

... Well, shit. That's what I get for not keeping up with things.

... Carry on.

I know there was an event calendar posted, but digging through the OOC community is getting confusing amongst all the intro posts. I must just be missing it but I can't find it at all. :( Could you link it in this community just to make it easier to find?
