My vacation so far

My vacation has somewhat relaxing. Tuesday I went shopping for the tiki party next weekend. Mom and I always miscommunicate...At some point I wanted to have a Love Boat theme and I can dress up as Issac the Bartender. But alas mom foiled the plans. We argue the distinction of luau and tiki party. She insisted not to have a luau yet she wanted tropical decor with the pinapples. So I persuaded for a tiki..The difference between the two..all decor may consist of tropical with tikis and not hula or pinapple decors. I was telling this story to Dave and his reply of this hoopla was that my family gathering is a picnic! Boy did I want to slap him.
Yesterday Dave took a half and we spent the afternoon in Vermont specifically Bennington. I'd always thought Bennington was bustling town everytime we past by during our numerous Vermont trips. It kinda reminds me Woodstock, NY meets upclass. Anyway we get to Bennington and most of the tourist spot were closed. Apparently Wednesday is the slowest day for the town..so most restaurant and shops were closed. We went to a local wine shop scamming it was a winery. Nope the actual winery is 30 minutes away from town. The wines at this place are made of apples, pears, berries and maple syrup. I bought a bottle for the party and for myself. Next we went to local paint store that carried Benjamin Moore paints. Oh my goodness I never seen anyone looking forward buying paints. Apparently Mr. Moore oil-based paints are banned in NYS. He needed to stock up this shit. I can't believe he spent over 200 bucks for paint yet feel squimmish when I showed jewerly at a flea market. There was an antique white gold diamond ring for 375 and a jade bracelet for 28. He pretty much shrug. I hope he doesn't have an idea making one like those from copper pipes. We decided to head back around 5. So the Bennington trip was almost a waste...Heading back he gave a brochure of museum making tools.Go figure, he wants to go someplace that involves with tools and wood...I think this is our tradition for a summer getaway...go some place in Vermont whether it's a weekend or a weekend. I was hoping for Rutland which is across from Lake George, but I guess we're heading out to Windsor.. I better brush up researching that area..My advice, if you want to go to Vermont...go to Montpellier (the capital)..You're between two tourist attractions: Ben & Jerry's and Cabot Cheese, other wise check out the restaruant especially the ones done by a culinary institute.
