Last Tuesday, my friend called me and told me that there would be an employee meeting Thursday morning at 9.
My friend is not a manager. Why didn't a manager call? He says that he just happened to be training at a different location and the manager just happened to walk in and tell him. And he just happened to be my friend so he called and told me... That's how I knew... Thanks, man...
I show up Thursday am bombarded with Panera dogma and am told to show up Monday morning at 9 to work.
It's Monday mroning. I should be at work, but I'm not. The building's not done quite yet. But that's not why I'm upset. I'm upset because I woke up extra early so I can get to work and get breakfast before my shift and I walk there and one of the managers says "Sorry, we're opening Wednesday. I called everyone yesterday, but I guess I ddin't call you."
"Okay."
"We're making a new schedule today. I'll call you either today or tomorrow and let you know."
"Do you need my number?"
"Isn't it on your application?"
"Yeah, but it has yet to be used, so I don't know, man."
So he has my number programmed into his cell phone.
$5 says he won't call me.
IT'S A SANDWICH SHOP, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! I SHOULD NOT BE GOING THROUGH SO MUCH SH*T WITH A SANDWICH SHOP!
I'm not upset about the store being opened. I'm upset about being informed that the store's not opened. This guy is the personnel manager. He's the guy who handles schedules and sh*t. It's his job. He didn't do his job. And I'm still poor. And rent's due. And I STILL don't have the money to pay for the improv workshop in July.
