re: needing directive

It's interesting, because we pair up and first one reads (the teacher is asking that for now we just read what she gives us, not go off on our own wording) and the other is the subject; then vice versa. I find that things I LOATHE saying when I'm reading, like the one where you're asked to imagine someone is applying glue to your eyes and they are glued shut (now try to open them ... it's done to see how suggestible the person is). I almost refused to do that one.

But then I was the one sitting in the recliner, and it didn't bother me at all. Part of what I'm trying to remember is that how the conscious mind experiences things, and how the subconscious experiences them, are so very different.

The teacher played us some tapes of really successful hypnotists, and their voices - the way they used their voices - literally made me ill. In the course of doing this, I'm hoping to sort out what's useful to the subconscious and what is not, without letting my conscious mind get in the way (as it does the sorting ...)

love back atcha - is the boat back on the water yet?
