My job offered me a permanent position today for a markedly higher wage and host of benefits. It was kind of sudden (I knew they'd opened two positions up but I wasn't sure they were available to me) and very, very welcome. By next month i'll be insured again, taking more pay than ever before and all-in-all in an extremely good place only four months after dropping my last job and moving across the country with some saved-up funds and the bare skeleton of a plan.
Things aren't perfect (the 20 mile commute is still a killer) but I feel very, very fortunate and it was a great way to start of the week.
Now I just need to not fall down any stairs for the next three weeks.
