http://www.livejournal.com/users/sirsparhawk/3100.html Two young hearts, with mismatched desires,
One wanted passion, the other, fire.
And so they danced: advancing, retreating,
Never quite sure what the other was needing.
Until one day, that changed their life,
That day they were married, Man and his beautiful Wife.
A family was started, some children were planned,
and then a great war took hold of the land.
That married young man would surely be drafted,
as the president started a plan he had crafted.
That beautiful girl, now all by herself,
Had a picture of him, right next to her bed.
He thought of her, and she of him.
She hoped for the world he would not be dead.
Again, one day that changed her life,
A letter arrived for the beautiful wife.
It said He had honors, countless in number
but sadly he died, his watchman in slumber.
The curses flew, and teardrops fell.
She cursed at her God, and said, "Go to Hell!"
She beat her fists on every wall,
till she fell sobbing in the empty front hall.
She found that she had been with child,
and the thought of that drove her crazy and wild.
She lived out her days, and bore a son,
the Man's final legacy now had been done.
She gave him up, to be for adoption
and then she concidered her final option.
They found her months later, swaying in place
hanging from the rafters in the attic crawl space.
The family was gathered, and all that were scattered
sent their love and condolences to no one at all.
BUT HE WAS ALIVE! Not that it mattered
But he carried her paul.
There had been a gigantic mistake,
the Man had reported a moment too late.
The damage was done, and left with noone,
the man took his sidearm and met with his God.
God said to the man: Yes your wife is here
but you however, I dont hold so dear.
The Man when to Hell, with fire and torment
his final end was indead quite cement.
To think this all started with innocent young love,
brought together, by the God up above.
Where did they wrong? No one knows
But all that is said is they loved each other
With all their hearts, and dreamed of a much better place & time.
Up this ladder in life, is a dangerous climb.
I do solemly swear that this piece of writing is completely mine. I wrote it from my words in my thoughts. I really hope you enjoy this one, even though it is tragic at the end. The topic could be a bit over-used, but hey, what are you goin to do. I'm filled to the brim with young love poems at the moment...wonder why...
