The Christmas Spirit
WOW!!!!! I can't believe it!!!!! My faith in mankind's generousity has been restored!!!
Yep, tonight at the band concert we managed to sell all the remaining candles at Madie's house- granted, there still is a fair amount floating around at various people's houses, however this is a HUGE accomplishment!!!
I was really worried to start off with- by show start we'd only sold like 10 packages and then the big setback was when we weren't able to make our announcement before intermission because there was some bad miscommunication on Ms.Cave and Mr. Boechler's part. But none of that matters now because we sold them all anyway!!! After intermission, we got to make our announcement and then our big break came when Sheila Harris was announcing our raffle basket and was all "I know a lot of these girls personally and they're really great people and I just think what they're doing is wonderful" and then she announced that Derrick had won the raffle and agreed to donate half the proceeds to us!!!! After that, things really picked up. Post-concert we had people swarming the table, buying all the candles in sight and stuffing $20 BILLS in the donation box. It was just...amazing. I am soooo impressed by the overwhelming generousity of everyone and wow. Tonight rocked.
On another positive note, my second anger presentation went way better. The class actually was enthousiastic and participated and of course the big bonus was they hadn't done anything on anger before so they really liked the anger role plays and all that. It was awesome, the band concert was awesome- Long live the Christmas Spirit!!!
