Query Letter
I just sent my first query letter. Ever. I feel kinda nauseous.
Anyway, the book is approximately 50% done, with a current word count of 20,000 words ... I estimate it will be 35-40 thousand by the time it's done, which should be by the New Year. Maybe by then, I will have heard back from the editor.
I just need to keep in mind that the sole reason for a query letter is to make the editor want a sample. That's all. Make them want a sample, and the sample sells the book. The query sells the sample, the sample sells the book.
