By da Creek I mean Knob Creek Range in Kentucky. It was two years ago I went off with the big gun to the big show and made a splash. Unfortunately it wasn't the splash I had wanted. As you will recall, I got blown up. So my plan was to return to redeem the big gun and myself. In mid July I had contacted the owner of the shoot to make sure I could return with the Oerlikon. He said yes, but about two weeks ago I find out from the buddy whose spot I am shooting off of, that he got a letter in the mail saying the Oerlikon would not be welcome at the shoot. I was upset, I called the guy and he told me what I expected. He is worried about the gun injuring someone again. I'm not saying he doesn't have a reasonable concern. I know I have resolved the problem, but he doesn't know that or know me from Adam. So I was pissed and said screw it I won’t go, but a couple buddies said I should go, maybe talk more with the range owner and maybe in a couple years his opinion will change. I also will go to another machinegun shoot and show off the Oerlikon there. This will give me some credibility. So I'm bringing a few machineguns, the belt fed water-cooled, the M16 and a Thompson. Should be a nice show and I have a couple other ideas and plans that going to the Creek will help. It'll be a chance to hang out with my other extreme family, my machinegun brothers; none of them are on my LJ friends list. I'm looking forward to the drive thru the mountains and have my Sirrus radio working well. It's a unique event, no sex like camp, but some interesting things to see and do.
