Nature is a cycle. I just got my Botany Long Test back and it's terribly low. It made me reflect. Come to think about it, when I was in high school, and even grade school, I also got low scores at some tests. But these weren't a bad thing. In fact, these made me want to work harder. These things motivated me into pouring more time and effort into the things or matters I took for granted. My failures became my motivations. These were my driving forces behind my achievements.
I remember the first and last time I got an academical notification slip. I was Grade Three. I failed two quizzes. One was a zero and the other was a four, both over ten. Because of these miserable quizzes, my teacher was forced to give me a notifaction slip. It's a slip warning my parents that I had low grades in that subject. This brought great shame and depression to me. As a kid, I had consistent high grades and getting a notifaction slip was the least thing I expected. When I got home, I went crying to my mother. I told her I was sorry for getting two falied quizzes. After that, I really tried to make up for this. I studied and did drills that my mom gave me. After that, all the quizzes that followed were overcame by a perfect score. I was on a roll.
When I was in 2nd year high school, my Biology teacher returned a long test where I was the lowest in the class. There was a note at the bottom of the long test. My teacher was concerned on what my score and knew I could better. I was touched by this note. After this, I had a perfect Biology Long Test. My final mark was a 94, not bad for someone who had a disastrous start.
Come to think of it, my trials really are not trials but are, in fact, challenges. These things challenge me, taunt me, to become better. These things help me grow as a person. Imagine a world without failure. Damn. That would be so miserable. We wouldn't learn, we wouldn't strive for more, we wouldn't be as motivated. Failure is a blessing.
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
