I've been getting little bits and pieces so please forgive me if this is inaccurate.
Zig has always been a bit on the darker end of the emotional spectrum, but when he went out to the park on Sunday he was especially down. So much so that Silver Shade decided Zig needed to come stay with him for a couple days so he could keep an eye on him and take care of him. It was implied that Zig didn't have a job, and was possibly about to have home issues.
It sounded like things were piling up on him. He had a bad infection in his mouth that made him lose like 6-8 teeth and that left him with a huge medical debt. His life wasn't going well, no girl, no job, etc...
After a few days Shade had to go do something and took Zig home. Zig called his sister Tammy shortly after and started talking about suicide with her. She tried to talk him down for more than an hour and finally realized that she wasn't going to be able to stop him. She called the police and drove over to his apartment but it was too late. He'd already shot himself and was dead when they got there.
