computer question

so we had this big storm come through yesterday and being a good little paraniod son of my father, I shut down the computer, turned off the power strip/surge protector and then unplugged everything from the wall. Now after connnecting the power back up to my computer, it will not turn on. On the back where the plug goes into the computer the power supply light is blinking, so power is going into the computer, but when you hit the power switch absolutly nothing happens...

anyone know whats wrong and how bad it is?
