Tomb Raider
I ordered this game through my GameFly account and it's been sitting for at least two weeks when I was more than 70% through the game. A review for BattleBlock Theater and the need to finish BioShock Infinite blocked the pathway to finish Tomb Raider. And like Lara swooping through and ripping past many of her obstacles, I finally finished the game.
I'll save my thoughts for tomorrow, but I can say that I enjoyed the story though it wasn't anything that anyone hasn't seen in a movie, which was a tad deflating. But there's no doubt this is a great reboot and I'm looking forward to how Crystal Dynamics moves it forward. That is if Square Enix doens't decide to can the franchise due to financial restructuring. Fingers crossed.
BioShock Infinite
I finished this one today, also. It was a good day for me and finishing games. Thankfully, this one I own; it's not from GameFly. BioShock Infinite has so much involved with its story that I'm certainly going to have to process it in its own muddy journal entry, but I'm fine with that. Just don't judge my writing too harshly. These entries aren't meant to have the most shimmering polish.
The Early Morning
If I'm not on my news shift at BeefJack, I'm waking up around 8AM. Today, I woke up at 6AM. I figured if I'm going to maximize the hours I have and get the most amount of work done before my wife gets home, I need to wake up earlier.
As multimedia producer, I'm tasked with quality control, producing YouTube and Twitch content, and inquiring PR to live stream games. That doesn't leave me much time to live stream and promote our Twitch channel. But if I wake up two hours earlier, I'll have more time to get those producer details finished, then live stream so our channel can receive more exposure. We want to show games and entertain more people but we have to put ourselves out there in order for people to notice us.
If it keeps working, I'll continue. If not, I'll think of something different.
Marriage Conversations
My wife and I had a great conversation that I won't get into detail on, but I wanted to highlight it because I don't acknowledge the good times we have frequently. It's easier to remember all the nonsense and annoying things I go through with her. I love her to death, but that doesn't mean we don't have bad moments. We certainly have good moments, though and I want to put it on record that today we had a great conversation that shed light on her personality and mine. I'm thankful for her and I thank God I have her.
