I'm going to do a little bible study with whoever wants to join. Best of all. It's short and you don't have to do anything but read and think.
1 Thess. 5: 21-11
“test everything; hold fast* to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”
*(protect, guard, stand firm)
PRINCIPLE: We (as Christians) are to carefully scrutinize the things we allow to have influence on us. Defending good things, and avoiding things that even appear evil. The purpose is to protect ourselves from evil influence and protect others who are more easily deceived from evil influences. Evil influences are an unnecessary distraction to the fellowship with God and a Christian's effectiveness for His kingdom.
-Think about your life and how you can avoid evil influences.
-Are we being careful to "test everything" that we allow into our minds?
-What, in your life, is distracting you from fellowship with God?
-Does that thing need to be given up?
-How can you help protect others?
Comments, ideas, etc. are welcome!
