We came back from Estonia at 1.15 am last night, at 8.30 I went to work and badaboom!, during my 10 days off everyone'd come back from their holidays, boxes and boxes of the festival magazine we worked so hard to put together were filling up the corridors, ditto the Night of the Arts booklets -- my baby this year --, the phone rang constantly, the staff passes were being laminated, festival food started filling up the fridge... Yikesidoodles, it's Helsinki Festival time in 9 days! I'd say I can't wait, but it feels like it's already on, so all I'll say is yee-haw!
Estonia was beautiful. We biked up to a 100 k a day, oh my thunder thighs! It was sunny and so pretty so pretty, we ate so well so well, we got so inspired so inspired by Ilon Wikland. I broke my ankle on the second to last day, and I cried because it hurt and because I thought I couldn't bike the last leg back to Tallinn, but then my baby wrapped a cold wet towel around my foot and tightened it with his belt and got me a Gandalf cane and then my thunder thighs took me the last 45 k homeward.
I met the Aussie for a glass of wine - it was absurd and fun, and when he said he wished we were both single I thought to myself, Funny, because I don't. And that's a happy thought.
What else? Festivaaaaal!
