Boy, that's some pretty crazy facts!
Here are some more plus a behind the seams look at how I made the comic:
I've always loved reading old timey comics and so many of them have these Ripley's Believe it or Not type pages thrown in.
Some of them have racisms I guess.
Before Google, it was harder to find out what Paul Morphy looked like. Also, chess boards.
I love the small "No reason given" for the hinge joint tattoos.
I'm willing to bet that the artist did not even asked what Jenny Stickney looked like and just drew a lady face plus cartoon mouse cheese.
No reason given.
This is the only one that I could actually "confirm"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeuxis So anyways, I thought it be a fun thing to make a Comics Face version of one of these.
My writing scribbles and doodle scribbles are usually mixed up in such a fashion.
I really like the name 'Dingus Khan' but I think he'd better better off in a future 'All the Times Face'.
The Freud goof started from a twitter joke much like many Comics Faces lately.
My pencils. They're very loose like a goose and mainly there to figure out what will go where. I don't tighten them up unless there's something I think I will have issues with like that car or tricky poses. They're in very light blue lead and are hard to photograph.
I love inking now! Here the levels are bumped up heaps to show the pencils.
When I posted my bird drawings from Comics Camp I got a few comments saying they wanted more so here is a bird.
I didn't think to take a photo of this but I tried something new with this page. I have a new refillable Aquash brush pen so I filled it with half water and half ink and inked in some grey tones. I was really happy with how it turned out on paper (except it's a little glittery because the tip comes coated in some gunk that I forgot to wash off) but it really doesn't scan well.
And that's how I made this comic! You can find it in this month's Trouble magazine and right here on the internet.
