Thoughts after the loss of sammyndeansgrl1...

Hi all. *Big hugs*

I just read this post at http://www.sinful-desire.org/archive/: "6/15/10: I hate to start the welcome page off with such sad news, but as many of you have read or heard of by now, we have lost an incredibly kind person and author in our fandom, sammyndeansgrl. She was one of the best authors in this fandom, and even more importantly, she was very sweet and always fun to talk to, either on the tagboard here, through e-mail, or on LJ. Her presence here on the site will definitely be missed, but her stories will always remain here for new and old fans alike to read what she brought to fandom. If you all have any suggestions for some sort of memorial in this archive, feel free to let me know a bit further below on this page in the News section."

The above links go to the J2 and Wincest website Sinful Desire, sammyndeansgrl1's livejournal, and sammyndeansgrl1's fics on Sinful Desire.

With that in mind, I have a few thoughts I would like to share.

I'm making this entry unlocked so everyone who would like to read her fanfiction can get to it. She was an incredibly talented author. I never got to know her as well as I would have liked, but I hope that she's in heaven, happy and at peace. Also, my condolances to her friends, family, and fans. She is a huge loss to our fandom.

There are a ton of fans, both who create wonderful work for our fandom and who don't, that would be missed terribly if they passed away. It's so unfortunate that many of these people aren't told how valued and loved they are.

But I want you all to know that I appreciate all of the hard work you do for fandom, and that you have good friends online who care about you deeply.

I know I seriously don't ever post an entry, besides my daily updates from twitter, which don't really count. This is because I don't have the internet at my house, and when I am able to go to the library to get online, which isn't very often at all, it's usually to do something that I've been meaning to do for ages. This makes it really hard to keep up with people online. Not just on LiveJournal, but even on Twitter and Facebook and all the other sites I'm on, too.

This is hardly an excuse. I really enjoy talking to all of my friends online, whether they're in Supernatural fandom or not. You are all a fantastic bunch of people. I frequently wish that I had an easier way to get online and more time to spend talking to you all. Unfortunately, real life tends to get in the way of our connections with people on the internet, no matter how close we may feel with them.

My fandom friends, who often get pushed aside for more pressing matters involving work and family and other real life stuff, by far have it the hardest. I know it may seem like I don't think about you or I don't care, but I really wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I do. Even though I don't post and reply as much as I should, I truly appreciate all of your friendships.

In case any of you would like an easier way to contact me, I am also siriuslyyellow on Twitter. Again, I'm not online a lot, but please, don't ever hesitate to talk to me if you want to.

I really do love all of you and appreciate your work so much. Thank you for being the amazing people you are. *Big hugs to all of you*

~ Sarah
