Okay, guys, as promised I bring pictures of knits in book!Ravenclaw colors:

I used this pattern: a typical House scarf seemed too bulky for the summer, which is when I'm going to wear this (to the release of book 7); I'm currently working on a House Unity Scarf to cozy up with in the wintertime.  This was done on size 8 needles in Red Heart yarn, Soft Navy and (I think) Bronze, I could be wrong though since I bought it at a clearance and the wrappers were missing.  I was so pleased with the scarf I modified the pattern a bit to make myself a headband:  All I did was cast on 10 stitches instead of the recommended 22 and I only worked stockinette between the bars for 10 rows instead of 18.  It was a very quick knit and came out very well.

I cannot stress the importance of blocking this enough.  Since it's flat stockinette, it curls.  A lot.  But I pinned this to the seat of my chair over night and spritzed it with water.  Ah, the joys of blocking in a dormroom.  But, as you can see, the ends are still a little curly.  I think maybe I'll try one more time.  Then I may spray it with hairspray.  That may work, seeing as it's an acrylic fiber.

I simply knitted the first bit and last bit in k2 p2 to make it stretchy, then sewed the edges together when finished.  You can't even tell because it's under my hair.  I like this a lot, actually, and I'm thinking about knitting a few ponytail holders in Ravenclaw colors as well.
