Liquid Mercury

“No,” said a stern voice exasperatedly, not bothering to look up from ‘Quitditch: A Bloody History’.

“And why the hell not?” asked an equally exasperated voice, although his voice was much more masculine.

“Didn’t I answer that question already?” Hermione asked, finally looking up from the book, to meet the transparent eyes of Sirius Black, as he stared down at her.

“Those answers mean nothing. Give me a real reason.” he replied, pushing back his long black hair that fell gracefully on his pale face.

Her eyes narrowed as she tried to bite back the blush that was creeping on her cheeks. It was more than difficult to repeatedly turn down a man who was more handsome Adonis himself.

“Sirius,” she said closing her eyes in front of him. “Tell me what color eyes I have,”

His eyebrows raised. “What?” He asked, not comprehending where she was going with this.

“Just tell me the exact color of my eyes,” she said again.

Sirius just stared at her, his mouth silently agape, as he watched the woman he wanted with her blissfully closed, waiting for him to answer her question. He said nothing for a long time, and the smile on Hermione’s face slowly began to disappear. Just when she was opening her eyes, she heard him speak.

“Your eyes are the color of liquid Mercury. So rich, so dark, but exotically beautiful,” He whispered, his breath tickling her neck pleasantly.

Hermione opened her eyes and to see Sirius in level with her. A smile tugging his lips as he watched her.

“Ask me again,” she whispered, leaning closer to him.

His transparent gray eyes bore into her, “Will you let me take you to dinner Friday night?”

Hermione smiled softly at him and in response she pressed her lips against his own, her eyes closed in pleasure the moment she came in contact with his lips.

If Hermione kept her eyes open, she would have noticed a piece of paper falling from Sirius’ back pocket, which had names of several woman on them. Hers being the only one that wasn’t crossed out. She also failed to notice the leering smirk Sirius gave her, right after they broke the kiss.

A/N: Well if you didn’t get the ending. It meant that Hermione was another woman that Sirius’ had plans on wooing. She wasn’t anything special like he had led her to believe. Poor Hermione, if she falls for the charms of Sirius Black, there is no hope for anyone else. Well tell me what you think, read and review!
