Halloween Picfic 2015: Eveela's Revenge

Halloween Day: Nina and Ayu
Nina: ...so Nina thinks that Ivory won't go looking for the toilet ghouls this year because Nina and Thea filled the toilet with Kit Kats. Ayu? Ayu are you listening to Nina?
Ayu: Hmmm? Yeah of course. What a waste of Kit Kats.
Nina: Nina gets the idea that something is on Ayu's mind.
Ayu: It's nothing really...just thinking about this key and last year's Halloween adventure. This year just feels a little empty...I didn't even get the Halloween costume I really wanted.
Nina: Marnie did not want to lend Ayu her dress?
Ayu: No. But at least I have Benny.
Nina: Marnie gave Ayu Benny?
Ayu: No. But we all know who he likes better right?
Nina: Nina thinks this year is going to be great. Nina and Ayu can go Trick or Treating together all day just like we used to. You know...Nina missed Ayu last year so Nina is happy that we get to spend all day together this year.
Ayu: Yeah...I guess it'll be pretty great. Maybe we won't get mugged by Irma this year.
Nina: Nina thinks that Ayu shouldn't get her hopes up for that one, hehe.
Nina: Nina just needs to go make sure Ivory is fine and not trying to curse any of our Halloween decorations ok? Who knows, maybe Ivory will join us this year!
Ayu: Oh joy. Dreams do come true.
Nina: Be nice Ayu, Ivory is making lots of progress on Earth customs. Nina will be right back ok? Meet Nina by the tree with the face.
Ayu: Yeah sure. You know I think I'll go ask Marnie if she'd give me her dress again. 31st time is the charm, I always say.
Maralene: I need to talk to you Marnie...it's something important.
Marnie: What is it? You look upset.
Maralene: I just...I don't know how to say it...you'll hate me.
Marnie: I would never! Just tell me it'll be okay.
Ayu: Hmmm...what's going on over there?
Marnie: Just start from the beginning. What's wrong?
Maralene: It's about last year when I suddenly reappeared. I told you at the time that I didn't remember what happened, and it was true at that point, but I've come to regain my memory in the past couple months and I was too terrified to tell you what really went on.
Ayu: *under her breath* Juicy....
Marnie: What really happened?
Maralene: Well it all started quite a while ago, before Eveela's attack on our coven. Do you remember when Maize and I had that fight over the methods we should use to defeat Eveela? I said that we should torch her tree down along with Eveela herself but Maize got angry that a student of hers would ever suggest such a thing.
Marnie: Yes of course. That was a very difficult time for me...
Maralene: Well, as you know, I left you and Maize, along with Sally, to go study elsewhere but I never told you exactly what we found. We met an elderly witch who told us she hated Eveela as much as we did and she agreed to let us study with her. She taught us many spells, dark spells. At that time I thought that we should take any measures necessary to defeat Eveela so I didn't question her tactics. However, deep down, I started to realize that Maize was right but I was too much of a coward to come back and beg Maize for forgiveness so I stayed for the time being. But I already had made a grave mistake. One day Sally accidentally discovered the old witch's secret...
Maralene: ....she wasn't just some elderly old lady who hated Eveela...she was Eveela herself.
Ayu: *under her breath* Oh snap crackle pop.
Maralene: You see, she always wore a cloak that covered her face. She claimed that Eveela had horribly disfigured her and she was too ashamed to show her face ever again. When Sally discovered her true identity, she told me at once. We left that night and came back to you and Maize. I kept everything a secret because I was too afraid that Maize wouldn't allow me to rejoin everyone. I don't think Maize ever fully trusted me again after that though. She knew I had a secret but she was giving me time to let her know myself. I never got a chance. Eveela attacked the coven and defeated us because of me. I didn't realize it at the time but when she was "teaching us spells" she was really storing part of her magic in us so she could use it at the right time. When you saw me explode, it was really Eveela releasing the magic she had stored inside of me. And I didn't explode of course, I along with some of the other witches in the coven, were trapped in her talismans. Most were trapped inside her skull staff but I was trapped inside her key.
Marnie: Oh, Maralene....
Maralene: I'm so sorry, Marnie. Can you ever forgive me?
Marnie: Of course, don't even think about it. I'm just glad you're safe now.
Maralene: Thank you Marnie but there's more that I have to tell you. I don't think Eveela has been fully defeated yet. We still haven't found Jack and Sally and I believe that they are trapped in another one of Eveela's talismans; her cane possibly. We have to try and save them. When I was trapped inside the key, I still had some of my senses. When I heard Eveela order her spiders to attack you and your friend, Ayu, I used whatever was left of my powers to teleport the key over to the tree where Ayu found it. If Jack and Sally are still trapped in Eveela's cane then we can sense them and they can sense us.
Ayu: *under her breath* Ooh, they're talking about me. I need to get closer so I can hear all of this. *trips and falls*
Marnie: Ayu! You were eavesdropping on us!
Ayu: No I wasn't. I was listening in on your conversation.
Marnie: That's what eavesdropping is.
Ayu: No, eavesdropping is when you're trying to hide that you're listening in on somebody's conversation. I was completely open about the fact that I was listening but you two were just too dumb to notice it.
Marnie: Go away, Ayu.
Ayu: What is that I hear? Please, Ayu, savior of last year's Halloween adventure, come and help us save Jack and Sally, the main characters from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. It'll be like I'm in Nightmare Before Christmas Part 2! Can I sing a version of Sally's Song called Ayu's Song?
Marnie: We're not talking about the characters from Nightmare Before Christmas. We're talking about my brother, Jack, and Maralene's sister, Sally. It's a bit coincidental that they have the same names but--
Ayu: So it's not the real Jack and Sally just like you're not the real Marnie?
Marnie: I guess if you want to put it that way...
Ayu: I'm starting to think you come from a world full of rip off Halloween characters.
Marnie: I'm just going to ignore that...like I said Ayu, away with you.
Maralene: Wait, Marnie, wait maybe she can help us.
Ayu: That's right listen to your friend. You know Maralene I always have thought that your dress was much prettier than Marnie's.
Marnie: Cut it out Ayu. You're not coming this year. I know I let you come last year, but it's too dangerous this time.
Maralene: We can protect her. She can help...we need all the help we can get. Anyone.
Ayu: Don't you know how to give up on a fight before you dig yourself an even bigger hole, Marnie?
Marnie: Ugh, fine. You're lucky Maralene wants your help, Ayu.
Ayu: You would have given in eventually. I know you just like to pretend to be stubborn. Benny, my bestest little buddy, told me you have a real soft spot for me!
Marnie: Leave Benny out of this.
Ayu: Oh Benny is always involved.
Maralene: Is she always like this?
Marnie: Oh yeah. Hurry up Ayu, we don't have all day!
Ayu: But wait, I forgot...Nina...oh she'll be so sad...
Maralene: Nina is your friend, correct?
Ayu: Yeah, Nina is my best friend. AND she's a witch! You said you need all the help you can get riiight? So let's invite Nina too!
Marnie: Ayu...
Maralene: Nina is a witch? Is she powerful?
Ayu: Oh yes she's very powerful. Her specialty is accidental...I mean completely intentional explosions.
Marnie: I thought Nina was the one who set fire to everything in sight because she doesn't have control over her powers.
Ayu: Oh, no way! You're thinking of Ivory, Nina's insane sister.
Maralene: Ivory is the one who has an obsession with toilets infested with ghouls, right?
Ayu: That's her! Like I said, completely bonkers! Nothing like Nina.
Maralene: Who did Nina study under?
Ayu: Uuuh, Dumbledore!
Maralene: Curious, I've never heard of him
Ayu: He lives in outer space that's why. So what do you say?
Marnie: Well...regardless of Nina's lack of affinity for magic, Maralene seems to think that our strength is in numbers, so I guess she can come.
Ayu: That's not fair! Wait, did you say yes?
Marnie: That I did. Now go get her.
Ayu: This was remarkably easy. Couldn't we fight for a couple more minutes? I always enjoy our fights.
Marnie: Go get her.
Ayu: All right, all right.
*10 minutes later*
Nina: Nina is very sorry that you both lost your siblings. Ayu told Nina all about it. For a very long time, Nina's family was split up but we're all together now.
Maralene: Thank you Nina. I can only hope that we have just as good of an outcome.
Ayu: My brother claims he was lost in the woods for a year but I didn't really notice.
Marnie: What a kind soul you are.
Ayu: Meh. I try.

Ayu: So, I just thought I'd check, do you even know where you're going?
Marnie: Of course I....well no...where are we going Maralene?
Maralene: When I was still trapped inside Eveela's key, I noticed that she had two hideouts her tree---
Ayu: The tree of ultimate death and doom?
Maralene: Uh, yes if you so wish. She had two hideouts: her tree and an underground tunnel.
Ayu: The tunnel of ultimate dirt and doom?
Maralene: I suppose if we're naming things...
Ayu: Oh we always name things. Extra points if the name has the words doom or Ayu in it.
Marnie: So you can lead us to her tunnels, right?
Maralene: I think so. They can't be far from here. Despite being a powerful witch, Eveela was pretty lazy. She never liked to travel very far between her two hideouts so they were located pretty close to each other.
Ayu: That's because Eveela is an ugly old hag whose brittle old lady bones would break into a million billion tiny pieces if she were to move more than 10 centimeters. I'm not sure why we didn't just immediately jump on her head last year and crumble her, isn't that right Benny?
Marnie: What did you just say?
Marnie: .....
Ayu: .....
Marnie: ......
Ayu: ......
Marnie: I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD BRING BENNY WITH YOU!! DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH DANGER YOU'RE PUTTING HIM IN?!?!?!
Ayu: Calm down Marnie, it's not my fault Benny loves me so much that he can't bear to be away from me for five minutes.
Nina: Nina doesn't think we should fight...
Marnie: NOT FIGHT? NOT FIGHT? HOW CAN WE NOT FIGHT WHEN SHE'S SO CARELESS. EVERYTHING IS A JOKE TO HER. DOESN'T SHE REALIZE HOW MANY PEOPLE WE'VE LOST TO EVEELA?!?!
Maralene: Marnie, it'll be ok, just----
Marnie: What was that?
Ayu: Someone must have wanted you to shut your face.
Marnie: More like someone was hoping to create an Ayu sized crater that leads all the way to the core of the earth.
Ayu: I hear it's pretty hot there.
Marnie: Yes that's the point. *gasp* Maralene? Nina? Where are you guys?
Ayu: Oh no Benny is gone too!
Marnie: Maralene?! Nina?! Benny?!
Ayu: BENNY! Come back to your bestest friend please!!
Marnie: What are we going to do? That lighting strike could have sent them anywhere. They could even be...
Ayu: I'm sure they're together. Benny's probably telling them how much he misses me.
Marnie: STOP IT. Can't you be serious for one second?
Ayu: Well I was being serious, but ok, let's just go looking for them alright?
Marnie: I don't even know where Maralene was taking us.
Ayu: Well I do, follow me.
Over with Nina and Maralene...
Nina: Eeep. What happened? Where is Ayu and Marnie?
Maralene: I don't know...Eveela must know we're here. She placed a spell on us. Keep your guard up Nina.
Nina: Double eep. Ok...Nina will try to. Nina hopes everyone is ok...
Maralene: Me too. Come on Nina, Eveela's tunnels are this way.
10 minutes later...
Maralene: Wait, Nina. Hide behind here, the entrance to Eveela's tunnels is over there.
Nina: Oh no...do you want Nina to explode it? Shouldn't we wait for Ayu and Marnie to come back first though?
Maralene: No. You stay here. I'm going to approach her tunnels and see if she's around. We can't waste any time. If something bad happens, run and save yourself.
Nina: Nina could never do that. Nina has Maralene's back. If Maralene is in trouble Nina will save her...somehow.
Maralene: That's very brave of you, Nina, but just stay her for now, ok? I need to scope out the situation.
Nina: Ok, good luck, Maralene.
Maralene: Her cane? No way. It's too easy. This is a trick...or is it...?
Back with Ayu and Marnie...
Marnie: How do you know where Eveela's tunnels are?
Ayu: Hmmm? Oh, I don't. I just told you that.
Marnie: So I could be following you into oblivion for all I know?
Ayu: Maybe. That'd be pretty cool.
Marnie: Would it?
Ayu: Stop. My spidey senses are tingling.
Marnie: Your what?
Ayu: Ugh, are you deaf? I hear something. Listen.
Marnie: I hear it too. Stand behind me. I'll deal with it.
Ayu: Oh puuuhleeze. I'll deal with it. UNDER THE GREAT POWER OF AYU I DEMAND YOU SHOW YOURSELF.
Marnie: Like that will---it's coming out prepare yourself!!!!
Marnie: Who are you?! State your name!
Ayu: Sebby? What are you doing here?
Seth: *off camera* What's going on?
Marnie: Who are you two? Did Eveela send you?
Seth: No. What's an Eveela?
Marnie: Don't play dumb with me. Tell me your names.
Seth: I'm Seth and he's Sebby. What's your problem?
Marnie: My problem is that I don't know why two little boys would be out wandering in the woods alone. Care to explain?
Seth: Sebby lost his spider who was wearing a top hat. We were looking for him.
Marnie: You lost your spider who was wearing a top hat? Oh, I'm sure you did. Tell you what kid, next time you try feeding me a tall tale, come up with a more convincing story.
Seth: But it's true!
Marnie: Save it. I don't know what you two are doing wandering out here but if you're in league with Eveela you're in for a lot of trouble. Come on let's go Ayu. Don't follow us you two, I'll know.
Ayu: Well I'll have you know that I really liked your story. I could totally buy that the spider was wearing a top hat.
Marnie: Ayu!
Ayu: See ya boys.
Ayu: You could have been nicer to them you know. They're innocent.
Marnie: Trust no one, Ayu. A spider in a top hat, I tell ya.
*KABOOOOM*
Marnie: What was that?!
Nina: *off camera* Maralene!!!
Ayu: Of course, where there are explosions, there's a Nina.
Marnie: Nina what happened?!?!
Nina: Marnie! Ayu! Maralene touched the cane. Nina saw it happen but she couldn't do anything!
Marnie: It's ok, I'll take care of it.
Marnie: Maralene? Are you ok?
Maralene: I'm fine. I'm fine. I should have known better.
Eveela: *off camera* Hahahaha, you foolish girl. You always did let your curiosity get the best of you.
Marnie: Eveela, stop now before it's too late. We have your staff and your key, we can defeat you just as easily as we did last year.
Eveela: Oh can you now girly? But would you have the guts to when I have this to protect me?
Marnie: Benny...
Ayu: OH NO YOU DON'T.
Eveela: It's your choice really, girlies, give me what's rightfully mine or your little friend here will suffer.
Marnie: I won't let you lay a finger on Benny!
Eveela: Hahaha, oh how adorable, you talk like you have a choice in the matter.
Ayu: We do. ATTACK!!!
Eveela: Prohibere. *spell hits Ayu*
Nina: Ayu!!!! Nina will save you! *attempts spell*
Eveela: Prohibere! *spell hits Nina* You have to do better than that to defeat me you amateur. You see, girlies, this is how it's done. No trolls or weak spells will help you this year.
Maralene: Stop this now. It's me you want. Leave everyone else alone and I'll surrender myself to you.
Eveela: Oh don't be so arrogant. You are of no use to me. What I want is what you possess. Like my key which I will take from your friend "Miss Ayu" right now. And before you think you can stop me. Duratus. Hehehe, oh I do love freezing spells.
Eveela: My key. Finally mine again.
Ayu: *bites Eveela* Ick, you taste horrible.
Eveela: *spell on Marnie and Maralene breaks* OOOOOUUUCHH. YOU ANIMAL!!!
Ayu: Oh really? Well I suppose you would know since you just so happen to be a rabid animal yourself. I just hope biting you doesn't give me some horrible disease that makes me a ugly, balding creature like you are.
Eveela: You foolish girl! You will pay for your words!
Eveela: Vale!
Ayu: *off camera* NO BENNY!!!!!
Marnie: *off camera* BENNY!!!!!
Ayu: No Benny...it's all my fault.... *starts crying*
Eveela: You see how it's done? Now give me back my stuff before you all meet the same fate. I will pick you off one by one. Who is my next victim? The amateur witch, Nina?
Marnie: *through tears* DON'T TOUCH ANYONE ELSE.
Eveela: Ooh lookie here, Marnie has volunteered. I look forward to having my staff back once you are gone.
Eveela: Vale!
Maralene: NO!!!! Remissionis!!!!
Marnie: Maralene! Don't!
Eveela: AAAAAH it burns!!!!!
*BOOM*
Marnie: Oh Maralene, why. Please don't leave me too.
Nina: What happened?
Marnie: She sacrificed all of her powers to Eveela. Just to save all of us...
Ayu: Will she be ok?
Marnie: I don't know...
Eveela: My cane.
Marnie: *gasp* Eveela is alive! Someone grab her cane before she gets it.
Eveela: Prohibere! Just because I have no talismans doesn't mean I have no powers. The cane and everything are still mine.
??????: No.
Benny: Dun dun dundundun dun dundundundundun!!!!!
Benny: Dun dun dundundun dun dundundundundun!!!!! This is the theme to Rocky by the way. It's supposed to be intimidating.
Eveela: You? But how?
Benny: Haha. *points cane* Bye bye.
Eveela: Noooooooo.
Eveela: The boy. I still have the boy. I will be back. *runs away*
Marnie: Benny, you're ok! But how?
Ayu: Come here my bestest buddy!
Benny: Hehe. But wait!
Benny: Watch this!
Benny: Tada!
Marnie: Sally is that you?
Sally: Marnie! But what's wrong with Maralene?
Marnie: I don't know. She got hit by one of Eveela's spells. I think she sacrificed all of her powers to save us.
Sally: I will heal her like I healed Benny.
Marnie: That was you?
Sally: Yes. I was inside her cane so I made sure she didn't hurt him. I was too weak to help Maralene when she cursed her though. Can you help me heal her? My powers are still weak.
Marnie: Oh Sally, I don't know if she has any powers left in her to heal.
Sally: Of course she does. Just help me.
Marnie: Ok, I'll try.
Maralene: I'm-I'm alive... Marnie? Sally? Is it really you?
Sally: Of course it's really me, silly.
Maralene: Oh, Sally. I can't believe you're really back.
Sally: Me too. Not to complain but living in a stick isn't the most comfortable situation.
Ayu: Why the long face, Marnie? I saved the day again!
Marnie: I'm happy Sally is back but Jack is still missing...you heard Eveela, she won't give him back without a fight.
Ayu: No big deal. We'll just have to go on another Halloween adventure! Sounds like a lot of fun---
Marnie: No Ayu, it's not fun. This is why you shouldn't have come.
Ayu: You had no problem with Nina coming. Do you really hate being around me so much?
Marnie: It's not that...I didn't want you to get hurt Ayu. I---I suppose I care about you. You're my friend, there I said it.
Ayu: Aaaaw, she loves me just as much as Benny does! Don't worry Marnie, you can be one of my minions too.
Marnie: And just like that, I regret everything I said.
Benny: Let's just chill out girls. Look at my cool new ride. A spider wearing a top hat! Pretty awesome. Wait until the trolls see me, they'll be so jealous.
Ayu: Hehe, you'll be the coolest minion around, Benny.
Marnie: Looking good Benny. A spider with a top hat, who would have thunk? I guess I owe those boys an apology.
Seth: *off camera* Oh really?
Seth: So? We're waiting.
Marnie: *sigh* I'm sorry I didn't believe your spider in a top hat story. In my defense, tensions were pretty high and the story was absurd.
Sebby: He's not absurd. His name is Fabio and he's very proud of his top hat.
Fabio: Respect the top hat, yo.
Marnie: Ok, I'm sorry boys. I'm sorry Fabio, your top hat is very nice. Thank you for helping Benny when he needed it the most.
Ayu: You're the most dapper spider with a top hat I've ever seen Fabio. And let the record show that I always believed that you existed. Do you want to be one of my minions?
Fabio: Minion?
Ayu: I'll take that as a yes.
Nina: *off camera* Come on guys, let's go trick or treating before it's too late!
Nina: Nina is very happy that everything turned out for the best and that Nina's weak Pullip joints lasted another adventure. Nina thinks it's been a very productive Halloween that can only be made better by candy.
Ayu: Tell you what, whoever steals candy from Irma gets to be one of my minions!
Marnie: *off camera* And we would be winning how exactly?
Ayu: Oh, har dee har. Just because you're already one of my minions, Marnie, doesn't mean that you should be jealous and take away the extraordinary opportunity from others. Plus stealing candy from Irma is for the good of all, trust me on this one. That girl has way too much candy.
Marnie: Now that I can agree with.
Maralene: I've only been here for a short time and even I know of Irma's candy hoarding habits.
Sally: I don't know who everyone is talking about but I like candy!
Ayu: *off camera* Can you sing Sally's song for me?
Marnie: Shut it, Ayu.
Seth: We know where Irma's secret bunker full of candy is.
Sebby: Fabio can pick the locks.
Ayu: *off camera* That's perfect, she'll never know what hit her! Let's go!

Wow I can't believe I was able to finish that, heh. I hope it was just as enjoyable as last year's. I wanted to have some subtle nods to last year's picfic, since it is a sequel after all, while still making a whole new story. I do feel like this one has a little less humor in it compared to the previous one but that's ok. And I really don't mean to be setting things up for a third story in this series with Jack still being missing. I would have added him in but I don't own the doll yet, Sally herself just arrived a week ago. I'm sure I'll continue this eventually once I get Jack, but I don't think I'll make it next year's Halloween picfic since I want to do something different. I was hoping to do something more creepy and sinister this year, but I couldn't come up with anything and once I thought up this idea, I had to do it. Eveela demanded to have her story continued. lol. I did feel quite a bit of pressure to make this as good as last year's picfic. I don't think it's quite there but I'm still happy with it overall. I think I'm still wishing I would have added in more humor but some of it would have been out of place, you know?
