I always wanted to live a faerie tale... you know... the perfect little world, where even if everything went horribly, all I had to do was wait long enough and my Prince Charming would come along and make everything better. Sweep me off my feet... take me away... And I believed that the only way that I'd find him was through always waiting... always being on the lookout...
And you know... it's funny, because after waiting a long, long time, I finally decided that faerie tales aren't real. There are no Prince Charming's who are going to take you to their palaces and make your lives perfect. And it was a really depressing thought. But I braced myself for the life where faerie tales weren't real.
Here's the irony... when I finally figured all that out, what happens? I meet my prince. And he's everything I wanted and more. So, I guess the moral of this story is that faerie tales ARE real, but they can only happen when you understand what REAL is. Real isn't just wanting things to be perfect or creating the perfect person in you mind. Real is accepting and understanding and loving. THAT is real. THAT is the faerie tale...
And I'm happy with it...
