Title: ~Brighton Beach~
Rating: PG...Maybe a little stronger
Prompt: Brighton
Characters: Remus/Sirius mentions of Lily/James
Word count: 5 100 word drabbles
Summery: Remus and his links to the city of Brighton. Both good and bad.

There was something always about Brighton beach that calmed me. My mother bought me here as a boy before I was bitten. Lily bought me here after mum died. I'm not sure why...Maybe it was because of the seashell I showed her once, that I picked up under the pier. It was five years later that she bought me back to the same place, staring at the old bombed ballroom from the beach, that she asked me about my sexuality..Or more to the point, about Sirius Black. She was the first person I ever told. I was gay.

It was three years before I managed to approach Sirius about the subject. It was the summer Sirius had left his parents, and we took a trip to the seaside. I protested Brighton, but Peter had begged about wanting to see the old pier alongside the new, and I couldn't say no. It was twelve minutes before someone recognised me. I've never been as uncomfortable as I was then. Stormy eyes stared, accusing, questioning everything I couldn't answer. So I did the only thing I wanted to do. I kissed him. And to my surprise...He kissed me right back.

“Sirius...” “Remus...Fuck...” It was a rickety, run down hotel off of the main promenade. James' stag weekend, chosen purposefully for the lively disco scene in the arches below the streets, had proven the perfect equation for Sirius to, well, take advantage of me. After all, Sirius Black always took what he wanted. A drunk werewolf and a shared room had left no grounds for complaint. The following morning I woke up to the familiar feel of aching muscles and limbs, however, for once, with a contented smile to my sleeping partner, I had no complaint as to their cause.

I couldn't hold back the tears like Sirius. Sirius could just laugh and smile, both of us looking just as tired as James, though no where near as bad as Lily. Both of us felt honoured to be present at the birth, I remember Sirius' chest swelling with pride as he was asked to be godfather. Staring down at the bundle of limbs, with chubby cheeks and masses of dark hair, I bit down on my lip, my lovers arms around my shoulders, holding us. “Who knows, you two...” James remarked with a smirk. “One day, it could be you”

But the chance never came. Events happened...James and Lily gone, Peter too. And Sirius? My Sirius. A murderer. So I sat back, on that pebbled beach. Hearing the happy families walking behind me. My family was dead. Plop. A stone was thrown into the ocean. For Lily. For James. For Peter. For mum. For poor Harry who would never know his parents. The last stone stayed, clenched in my hand. For Sirius. But it couldn't be put to rest. No. Falling to my knees, I screamed, I cried, for my love lost...For the man I thought I knew.
