Gryffindor socks are silly things to get excited about. Nevertheless, Sirius is proudly standing in nothing but the red and gold striped uniform socks. Remus gives him a long look before chortling.
“Do not mock me, Moony!” Sirius exclaims, “These are the first purchase of my independent existence! They are nothing to laugh at.”
Remus covers his mouth with his hand to stifle his laughter. Sirius wiggles his toes.
“And, admit it,” he continues huskily, “seeing me as an emancipated, self-sufficient man makes your blood run hot!”
Remus continues to laugh and James tells Sirius to put some pants on.
