This is actually a pretty hard one. XD I think I share traits with many characters, and some years ago I'd probably have given you ( Read more... )

Its Luna for me, too. Definitely not any of your other three, though they are all characters I like. They just aren't like me.

Until Luna's first appearance I used to think that Neville Longbottom was as close as any book would ever get to having a character like me. - There's nothing heroic about me and I'm much too pathetic to feature as a villain, nothing worth writing about - And then there was Luna. (Okay, so I never read esoteric magazines or believed anything in them, but my classmates definitely did ignore everything I said deeply convinced it couldn't be worth hearing. And I never wore radishes or bottle-corks ... but I sure would have wanted to, if only I'd dared. I guess Luna is braver than me ... Neville is too.)

Aww. *hugs* If I wrote a character like you, they'd be a friend of the hero's. Quiet, but there for the hero, to offer strength and support, and so just as important as the mentor imparting knowledge and amulets.

I definitely read odd things even if I don't believe everything. And the only reason I wouldn't wear a bottle-cork is because I don't want to. XD I do wear large jewellery and odd things though.

A hero would have a more worthy friend. They wouldn't bother with someone like me. (Haven't you noticed how Harry didn't ask Neville for help with the second task of the tournament. He could have helped, but he was too pathetic to be worth asking.)

I think that makes it all the more important, actually. Ron and Hermione were practically obligated to help Harry. Neville had no such obligation, yet he volunteered the information - and the Gillyweed itself - that pretty much saved Harry's butt. XD

Also, I love the journey/transformation of Neville in the books. He's a pudgy boy who still has the courage to stand up to his friends in the first book, he helps Harry with the second task in GoF, and in OotP he really grows as a wizard and character, with the Ministry battle. And at the end of HBP Neville and Luna are the only DA members who answer the call, and Harry "felt a sudden strong rush of affection"; he can rely on them. And Neville is kickass in DH. All he needed was an opportunity, which Harry provided.

*hugs* <3

*tries to remember the movie* Um no, that's Dobby. Neville doesn't find out what the task is until it starts.

and in OotP he really grows as a wizard and character
Which is the reason I said he's a lot braver than I am.

As is Luna.

Oh? I haven't read GoF in a while, but in the movie it's Neville who provides both the information on Gillyweed and Gillyweed itself.

He had the opportunity. Anyway, you're still an awesome friend. <3

It's what Bertie Crouch intends to happen, but Harry never thinks to ask Neville, so in the end he also mentions the Gillyweed in front of Dobby and Dobby steals some from Severus.

If I had the opportunity, I'd fail.

Ah, yeah. I need to have a HP marathon one day. As I was telling Mysti when she mentioned The Neverending Story, "The Neverending Story is on my Neverending To-Read List."

We'll never know. <3 Anyway, everyone has their good qualities, and you've always been an awesomely caring and supportive friend.
