*sob* Even though I knew it was going to hurt, I am still crying. I love how angry Sirius is at the universe and his dead friends. Seems like a very Sirius thing to do. And it breaks my heart when he takes that moment to ponder Remus' innocence and what that means.

It feels like you really captured exactly what happened at that moment in canon. Very nicely done!

The door is unlocked and stands slightly ajar, something he hadn't been able to see from the spot to which he'd Apparated. I know you had some issues between him apparating there and getting there on the bike, so I am not sure if that line fits. Unless he apparated *on* the bike, then I think it works fine. :)

This...hurts.

All the more because I imagine this is how it happened. It seems so terribly canon, and it just...aaargh.

Days from now, and for years to come, whenever the Dementors come near, Sirius will remember how he crossed that kitchen floor and crashed to his knees beside James's body.

That line broke my heart. I read that passage over and over again, trying to remember how to breathe. When he first sees the arm, and when he loses it and starts destroying things...ohhh.

It's funny - I actually had to struggle to keep it consistent with canon. I had this idea...and then I kept remembering bits of canon, and kept having to rewrite. I'm so glad it turned out well. Thanks again!

I'd forgotten until I was halfway through the story that the house was all but destroyed by the time Hagrid got there, so I made Sirius do it. I actually prefer my version. :)
