so, my once in a blue moon update... I'm excited so I thought I'd share.
Got my blood donation card and now I know my blood type. Never knew since I'm adopted and doctors would never let me test... grr... but to make a long story short I am:
O+
What this means is:
a) I'm the most common blood type in the US.
b) I'm most in demand for my type because no one ever donates my blood type because there are so many people who believe that they don't need to donate since it's so popular.
c) More than half of all blood requested by hospitals are for O type blood (more so for O+ since it's common... O- is used primarily for infants and accident victims)
d) I can donate plasma to only O+ and O- types.
e) I can donate whole blood to only O+ types.
f) I can donate red blood cells to O+, A+, B+, and AB+
