meh. "we're not ready for a progressive candidate?" yeah, like we're not ready for queer rights or integration or the end of slavery or women's rights or a woman president or a blacvk president or anything but retrograde patriarchy.

Anything that includes the phrase "we're not ready" is an automatic lose. I'm so sick of "well-meaning" white male 'libruls' telling me to wait.

Why did Bush win in 2000? Because people voted for him. If you want to get angry at voters for electing Bush, doesn't it seem slightly more reasonable to be upset at the 48% that actually voted for him? Oh, and how about the Al Gore for running a shitty campaign? And Al Gore and the DNC for telling Bush, "sure, go ahead. steal it! we won't object!" Or the SCOTUS saying, "go ahead, steal it! we're in favor of that!"

Should Nader run in 2008? I dunno, he's screwing the Green party way worse than democrats. And if Dems want to field a candidate who is pro-war or pro-mercenary, Gods help us, and some pacifists are choosing between voting third party and staying home, well, what's wrong with them voting third party? Because it's not like the Dems are any kind of opposition. I mean, they're better. Much like getting jabbed in the butt with a cold poker is better than getting jabbed in the butt with a hot poker.

And why is the media even bothering to report on Nader when they had a blackout on Kucinich? Because Nader screws Greens, not because he screws the joke of an "opposition" we-love-war party.

Democracy is such a nice idea. The US should try it.
