I'm in Redhat class. In 2006 I got my RHCE (for redhat version 4). This class is for version 5, its 4 days long and Friday is the exam day. They give you a computer with no OS loaded, and tell you to "go!". You have the documentation on the cd but no internet access. You have to load the OS, configure things like email, web, filesharing and security services, and much more.
Its actually pretty cool, not like the Solaris certification which is just a multiple choice quiz, difficult as it may be.
The test is two halves and you need 70% on each to pass. Last time I got 100% on the first half, and just barely made 70% on the second half.
My goal is to get 100% on both halves of the test this time. I'm even forgoing poker this week to study at night. I still have an old computer lying around the house running RHEL4 that I will use for the exercises.
