The New World, with a few spoilers

Feb 21, 2006 23:14

I had Arthur - one of my cats for those who don't know him yet - operated today (just the common "you won't be able to have babies with the whole neighborhood" operation) . Before he went to the vet, the little $^ù%#& realised something strange was happening so he just fought me with all his might and I ended up with two fingers thoroughly ( Read more... )

I can't wait to see this movie. I have it downloaded but i think i wanna wait to see it on the big screen. I loved The Thin Red Line, it's so poetical :) I hope i'm gonna like it, cause so far i've heard some bad things about it. And as you know i love Christian but also Colin (poor boy just had a bad time since Alexander, i hope he'll get through all this) So yeah, i'm really curious, i might take a look at the downloaded version O_o Thanks for the pics!

I have the same problem with Stay and I think I'm going to wait for the US DVD which will be released a long time before it will be on the big screens here.

So I have at least one CF fan on my flist ;) I hope for you that you'll find him far better and interesting than me in TNW. I was reading through an article about the Miami Vice movie not long ago, and they were not very kind with CF once again.

The only other people I know here who's seen TNW didn't like it at all, I guess you have to let the magic of the movie act on you to really appreciate it. But I've read as many good reviews as bad ones. And even the very bad ones said that Q'Orianka and Christian were very good ;)

Yes, i'm a Colin fan ;P Though he's having a hard time lately, and in candid pics he often looked like a hobo.. Have you seen Tigerland or Phone Booth, i think he was very good in those. I've only read two or three The New World reviews on my flist so far, and the first one made me very nervous. It was from a Colin fan and she walked out of the movie! I think she said that his character wouldn't come back anyway and so she left cause she hated the movie so much.. And i was looking forward to The New World, cause i can't believe he signed up to do Miami Vice, ugh! Not interested in that one at all, so i had all my hopes up for this one. Because of the director and Christian and the story (and lol, there's a Dutch actor in it as well XD) I hope i'm gonna like this movie.. But since i've read some bad reviews i'm kinda prepared now, and if Colin isn't that good in it then i'm not afraid to admit it. But i have to say that i think i prefer this look to the blond Alexander XD ( ... )

Apart from Minority Report, I know I've seen CF in a movie, I think it was also with Al Pacino but I'm not sure at all and I can't remember the title because I caught it on TV as it had already begun. I didn't find CF very attracting. I read he made one, where he played a gay man, that was quite good, is it one of those you said ?

Christian is in TNW only for the last part, say for half an hour maybe. It's hard to say because I thought the movie passed so much quicker when he was on screen ;) You never see him before he appears suddenly, not even in passing. On the contrary, Colin appears again near the end for a short while. Christian's part may be short, but it's a powerful one and his character is just lovely, the man a lot of women would dream of ;)

I did feel uncomfortable during the John Smith/Pocahontas romantic scenes, and not at all during the John Rolfe/Pocahontas ones, so there's hope for you if you find that CF plays better than I thought :D

The movie with Al Pacino was "The Recruit" :) And he played a gay (or bisexual) guy in "A Home At The End Of The World" i really liked that movie (except his wig in the first part XD), i even bought the book :) And i admired his decision to play that role in a low budget movie, you don't see a lot of up and coming actors do that. The other leads in that movie were fab as well: Dallas Roberts, Robin Wright Penn and Sissy Spacek. In case you're interested i can upload the clip with the gay kiss XD

Thanks for all the info! And if i can find some spare time i think i'll watch the downloaded version :P

Thanks ! (and to zsuness too) Gay kisses are often so much sexier than het ones. I'll try and find the movie to see what it's all about. I thought CF showed more different expressions in this little clip than he does in the whole TNW (I'm sure if I criticize him enough you'll find that he's not that bad when you see him ;D)

Too bad this other guy certainly doesn't kiss Joaquin in Walk the Line ;) (which I finally should be able to see next week !)

Oh, i agree! When two guys kiss it's often a lot hotter :P Cause you have two guys to look at, double the fun LOL XD but it also says something about them, that they're not afraid to do something like that. And i dunno, it just has some special power or something that makes it's extra hot for us slashy fangirls, i can't explain XD

LOL, thanks for the bad CF reviews then i suppose XD It's okay if you don't really like him, we don't have to agree on everything ;D

And no, there are no gay kissses in Walk The Line, but it's a very very good movie ♥

Gotta go to bed now, it's getting late O_o

*hugs*
