Just a few more hours before I've got to go back to work, and I'm not particularly happy about it, as you can well imagine. *sigh* I've had a great time, I've read, I've written, I've made walls... bottom line is, I feel relaxed and I cross my fingers in hope I'll stay in this state for a while ;)
First, some of you asked about the kitty. So he's now three and a half months old and as I loved
spacequeen's suggestion, I tried calling him Arthur and it suited him a lot. Especially when he's doing all sorts of stupid things, because we have this expression here, "You're going to be called Arthur !", when someone has done something that's going to get him scolded. Don't ask where it comes from, I have no idea (if you use it too and know the origin of the expression, please tell me). So Arthur he is (French pronounciation, please !!) and sometimes even Arturo ;)
Here's a little pic of Crapule (one year and a half) and him. They are both European cats as the veterinary says, or gutter cats as we say in the vernacular.
I've seen Match Point again ! It was great to see the story unfold as I really knew what was happening. And this time, I've listened carefully to the sentence that had amused me, remember ? The actual words, as far as I could tell, are "how about a drop of Scottish". I think I prefered my first version ! ;D
A bit of update about the situation here. I haven't seen more personally. As for my city, the mayor's letter from last Monday totalized less than 100 cars burned, about 20 trash can fires, 15 starts of fire, the burned warehouse I was talking about last week (although I've heard some of my neighbours wondering if it's not a convenient coincidence to get the money from the insurance, but I guess you can't avoid that kind of comments) and also a school's sport room burned to the ground. There could have been more during the last week but it was not close to me.
I often watch TV5, a French language channel that is very interesting because you can see news from a lot of French speaking countries. France is the biggest contributor but there's also Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, African countries... If I didn't know better, I would have been very chocked to hear that the French national TV had refused for once to give to TV5 a reportage about police abuse during an arrest in a town nearby (I had seen the reportage on France2 and it was really telling, policemen kicking a man already on the ground). More violence from each part...
I guess I have to go to sleep sometime so here are the walls. For those who didn't see them on
q_spade's LJ, here are the three variations on one simple wall (textures from Tre-xture and Innamoramento) I made with the gorgeous scans of Cillian Murphy she offered to us a few days ago.
Then you get the wall I made for Candygram of Peter Wingfield, who will always be Methos of Highlander for me - the wall is not that good but I love the colours of the background I've created with textures from Tre-xture - and far better, the wall Candygram made for me with the Machinist pics I had uploaded last week. Enjoy !
And as I might be a lot less present from now on, have a good week everyone ! ;)
