I can honestly say I own no stilettos because there's no way my foot would go halfway into it in the first place, haha. Yeah, I got a pair of wedge heels and boots with heels. The boots are AWESOME.. but after wearing them and walking around for 30 minutes, I began to understand how it would feel to undergo foot binding. Do you think ballerinas would have an easier time wearing stilettos/heels of any sort?
LOL... I actually found one very comfortable 'boot' - the one that adds 1.5 inches to my height but no one knows 'cos it's hidden. ^^ Yay! It's only because I (1) got them in size seven [well, roughly the Korean equivalent, so maybe it was 6.5] and (2) they were lined with fur so it was made a little bigger. It fit PERFECTLY! The only thing I had to do was buy a foam liner to give a little more cushion (the soles of my feet get a little sore after 1 to 2 hours of walking in it). The sad thing is since I moved back to Texas, I dunno when I can wear them again. T___T I love boots.. but they're also included on my list of difficult shoes.
I'm sure that pic of their legs is photoshopped. haha, although they're known to have some of the best legs, it's not normal to have them like that (I felt like they would tip over if I so much as poked them). I wrote this post with a slightly exaggerated feel to it - it was mostly just for fun. :D
Now you remind me. I need to get myself a foam liner!
And as for your question, I have never worn nor touched ballet shoes (or pointe shoes) myself xD But I think if a shoe can hurt somebody's feet for whatever reason (maybe some part of the shoes is smaller than the size of a certain part of your foot, or it inflicts sore on your soles), then whoever wears it won't stand walking in those shoes for long. But if there's nothing wrong with the shoes, then it may just take some time to get used to wearing them. Practice makes perfect haha.
And boots, you can wear them anytime to just look good? Maybe when you go out with friends eating or something, you can wear them? But if the foam liner only helps a bit, walking in those boots will give you a bad time indeed :/
haha, I would be lying if I said that none of my shoes - even my usual ones that I go to - give me no trouble. I think in order to get the perfect so, they would need to be custom made.. or I get them at 'specialty' shoe stores like SAS that have special sizes for people with odd feet or with jobs that require them to stand for hours at a time. However, they don't carry the awesome styles. :( BUT those foam liners really do help! ^^ I would wear my boots all day shopping or just hanging out with friends and other than the whole "OMG the soles of my feet ache" which feels similar to hiking/walking all day in tennis shoes or something similar, it feels fine. ^^
I actually took ballet at one point. :/ It was back when I was in elementary school.. perhaps kindergarten to first grade. However, I don't think those awesomely comfortable slippers would enable me to dance on the tips of my toes, anyway, so it's not a good insight into this. But yes, I agree. However, when do you know if you're just breaking in the shoe or if you've just gotten used to how it hurts? :P
My family and I went to the mall for the first time yesterday and I was browsing for boots. It completely bummed me out that Texas doesn't seem to stock up or even display boots in the warmer months. :( I wore those heeled boots once the same day I got them all up and down downtown and it SERIOUSLY killed me after 30 minutes. I stuck in the foam liners and it felt momentously better... for another 30 minutes. LOL... I don't care - I still like them. Not like I can go back to Korea and return them either. ^^;
