For Valentines Day, I got Adam a box of chocolates and a pepper mill. He loved both gifts a lot. The chocolate was from
Recchiuti, probably the best chocolatier in San Francisco. We ate most of it but Adam wants to save the best pieces for last. I got the pepper mill from Sur La Table. I have to say, freshly ground pepper is so much better than dried ground pepper. My eggs have been tasting much better. Plus, the
mill I got has five different settings, from fine to coarse.
Adam and I have been stocking up on vinyl records. I got a couple Stereolab 45's and the original Broadway recording of Evita. Adam got a couple Elton John records, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, and some 45's, including Golden Triangle and Hunx (with a scratch-off nude cover).
Last weekend was another FAIL at hanging out in San Francisco. It seems to happen to us often. The first time, we tried to see Deerhoof but ended up eating Panda Express. This time, we went to check out a club in Chinatown but ended up using pretending to get a table at Denny's in SoMa just to use the restroom and heading home to drink vodka. I wouldn't call it an epic failure, but it was definitely not what we planned.
