Organizing Update
Ok so one of the things I left off with at the beginning of the year was the organizing challenge. I managed to get the other two to suffer through about 4 of the challenges then life got in the way. I did however manage to go through and get rid of a ton of stuff. We also redid the living room and I got the hobby room almost completely unpacked and organized. However then we found a house we liked and bought it so I had to pack it all up again. The good thing, I had already gotten rid of half of what was in the room so I didn’t have as much to pack or move. Haha.
When we got our taxes back in march we decided to redo the living room. We wanted to put in carpet and decided to repaint the walls and shelves and stuff. We also got a couple of bookcases from Walmart so they are not the most sturdy but they were only 30 bucks each and they have 5 shelves. Here are some before and after pictures of the living room:
We decided to go with gray walls and then a teal accent wall with purple stencil. And decided to paint all the shelving and what furniture we could black. I wanted to paint the couch and chair black to but they wouldn’t let me. They thought it would be a waste of money which it would have been because we shortly got rid of them and acquired a different set. We really loved the way it turned out and was looking forward to doing the other rooms when we had the money.
Here is what the hobby room looked like after I had gotten rid of some stuff but before I had gotten the shelves and organized:
We were going to have 3 bookcases in here and I was originally going to put two on one wall and the third on the opposite wall but it wouldn’t fit the way I wanted so all three got put on the same wall. In the before pictures I had already unpacked and gotten rid of a lot of stuff so many of boxes in the middle of the room are empty I just didn’t have a place to put them and was planning on reusing some of the smaller ones for organizing and stuff I didn’t have room for yet.
Unfortunately on the after pictures they are not really after pictures more like during pictures or almost done pictures. Since we bought the new house and moved before I got the hobby room completely done and set up I never took final pictures of it. So these are the last pictures I took, I actually did get a lot more done and I got the shelves more organized than this last picture but I never took a pic of it. You can’t tell in the picture but you can actually walk all the way around the pile in the middle of the floor whereas you couldn’t when I started throwing stuff away.
