Outstanding drama series
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Joan Of Arcadia
The Sopranos
24
The West Wing
Eh. The only show I can comment fairly on is probably CSI (I've been missing TWW far too often to fairly comment on it this season, I don't watch 24 or the Sopranos- and fail to see the big deal about the latter and I've only seen a bit of JoA) and while that has been better this year it's still had its off moments. I really would have liked to see Without A Trace there to be honest, but in the end I think I'd like to see JoA win.
Outstanding comedy series
Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Everybody Loves Raymond
Sex And The City
Will and Grace
I stopped watching comedies regularly a while ago so this category holds little interest, though can someone please explain to me what is so wonderful about Everybody Loves Raymond? It's. Not. Funny.
Lead actor in a comedy
Larry David - Curb Your Enthusiasm
John Ritter - 8 Simple Rules
Kelsey Grammer - Frasier
Matt LeBlanc - Friends
Tony Shalhoub - Monk
Again with the not caring for comedy categories. Kelsey Grammer is so just a symathy nod. Matt Le Blanc is good, but I still prefer Matthew Perry. In the end, *shrugs*
Lead actor in a drama
James Spader - The Practice
James Gandolfini - The Sopranos
Kiefer Sutherland - 24
Martin Sheen - The West Wing
Anthony LaPaglia- Witthout A Trace
Humph. BBC News, where I got this list from, left off ALP's name. Unimpressed, BBC. Unimpressed. Needless to say I am all about an ALP win, but I also have an inexplicible soft spot for Kiefer and well a Martin Sheen win (althought the show hasn't been as good) wouldn't disappoint me too much (though it's fairly unlikely.) But in the end, go ALP!
Lead actor in a miniseries or movie
Antonio Banderas - And Starring Pancho Villa As Himself
Al Pacino - Angels in America
James Brolin - The Reagans
Alan Rickman - Something the Lord Made
Haven't seen any. Can't really comment. Really wish they would hurry up and play Angels here though. I'll support Al, just because I think he's wonderful with Alan Rickman coming a close second.
Lead actress in a comedy
Patricia Heaton - Everybody Loves Raymond
Jennifer Aniston - Friends
Bonnie Hunt - Life With Bonnie
Jane Kaczmarek - Malcolm in the Middle
Sarah Jessica Parker - Sex And The City
Eep. I have no idea. I like Sex in the City, but SJP bugs the hell out of me, so out of left field with my support, go Jane Kaczmerak!
Lead actress in a drama
Jennifer Garner - Alias
Amber Tamblyn - Joan of Arcadia
Mariska Hargitay - Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Edie Falco- The Sopranos.
Allison Janney - The West Wing
Any of them could win this and I would be happy. I know Alias and TWW haven't been up to scratch but I adore Jen Garner and Alison Janney too much to care.
Lead actress in a miniseries or movie
Emma Thompson - Angels In America
Meryl Streep - Angels In America
Glenn Close - The Lion In Winter
Helen Mirren - Prime Suspect 6: The Last Witness
Judy Davis - The Reagans
I've seen snippets of Prime Suspect and some of the Lion in Winter, but you can't really judge complete performances from that. So, it'll probably be a walk over for Meryl, but I'd be happy to see her, Emma, Glenn or Helen win in the end. I don't actually really know who Judy Davis is ...
Supporting actor in a comedy
Jeffrey Tambor - Arrested Development
Brad Garrett - Everybody Loves Raymond
Peter Boyle - Everybody Loves Raymond
David Hyde Pierce - Frasier
Sean Hayes - Will and Grace
Um, I'll support David Hyde Pierce, though he won't win, because I've always liked Niles and him as an actor in general.
Supporting actor in a drama
Victor Garber - Alias
Brad Dourif - Deadwood
Michael Imperioli - The Sopranos
Steve Buscemi - The Sopranos
John Spencer - The West Wing
Victor or John winning would make me perfectly happy. (See comments relating to Jennifer Garner and Alison Janney in relation to support despite show suckage.)
Supporting actor in a miniseries or movie
Patrick Wilson - Angels In America
Justin Kirk - Angels In America
Ben Shenkman - Angels In America
Jeffrey Wright - Angels In America
William H Macy - Stealing Sinatra
Really can't comment, though I've always liked William H Macy.
Supporting actress in a drama
Robin Weigert - Deadwood
Tyne Daly - Judging Amy
Drea de Matteo - The Sopranos
Janel Moloney - The West Wing
Stockard Channing - The West Wing
Yay, go Janel! Behind you all the way.
Supporting actress in a comedy
Doris Roberts - Everybody Loves Raymond
Kim Cattrall - Sex And The City
Kristin Davis - Sex And The City
Cynthia Nixon - Sex And The City
Megan Mullally - Will and Grace
Don't really care to be honest, but I do like Miranda, so go Cynthia Nixon!
Supporting actress in a miniseries or movie
Mary-Louise Parker - Angels In America
Angela Lansbury - The Blackwater Lightship
Julie Andrews - Eloise at Christmastime
Anne Heche - Gracie's Choice
Anjelica Huston - Iron Jawed Angels
Totally cant comment.
Guest actor in a drama
Bob Newhart - ER
James Earl Jones - Everwood
William Shatner - The Practice
Matthew Perry - The West Wing
Martin Landau - Without A Trace
Matthew Perry, just because.
Guest actor in a comedy
Fred Willard - Everybody Loves Raymond
Anthony LaPaglia - Frasier
Danny DeVito - Friends
John Turturro - Monk
John Cleese - Will and Grace
I haven't seen the episode in question but ALP on principle, closely followed by John Cleese.
Guest actress in a drama
Louise Fletcher - Joan of Arcadia
Mare Winningham - Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Marlee Matlin - Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Betty White - The Practice
Sharon Stone - The Practice
I've seen one of those perfomances and that only briefly, that of Marlee Matlin and she's always awesome so, go Marlee!
Guest actress in a comedy
Georgia Engel - Everybody Loves Raymond
Laura Linney - Frasier
Christina Applegate - Friends
Cloris Leachman - Malcolm In The Middle
Eileen Brennan - Will and Grace
Nope. No idea. Laura Linney was good in Love Actually...
Also, Gary Shandling is doing the show this year? Is it just me who doesn't think he's funny at all?
