It was a little strange to be here. Here and alive and existing, and there was just so much that she still didn't know, but she wanted to learn. And maybe she had been around exploring, but not so much that she had made it to the beach. Instead, Sora had let her know there was a beach. In the way he was considerate about just talking and not using any video.

It hadn't been that bad, but it was still something she didn't want to do yet. She didn't want to meet him. She didn't want to see the boy who she was supposed to become. Who she had, in a way, if only his face.

"I've been exploring a little! Not here though. Someone told me there was a beach," She said, looking down at her feet in the sand.

Roxas nodded. "There are bad people here, but some really nice ones, too. A lot of newcomers look out for each other." He kicked at the sand, sending up a little spray of dirt and prompting a tiny hermit crap to go scuttling away. "I guess because no one else will. A lot of the people who lived here before don't like us."

Well, that was less cheerful than he wanted to be, for her sake. No reason to focus on the negative when there were better things to think about. Even if the locals did want them gone, there were plenty of newcomers who were friendly. Besides, no world with a beach like this could be all bad.

"Come on, we can see if there are shells."

"When I first got here, there were some people that I didn't even know, and they talked to me," Xion said, looking out at the waves. "I guess they were newcomers too...it's a weird name. Do we ever become not newcomers?"

She glanced behind her at Roxas and seemed pleased with the thought of becoming normal. No name attached to anything, she could just be Xion, and he could just be Roxas, and since they now knew where the beach was, they could come here more.

"Maybe we can find some! Then we can take them back to the...apartment with us! But no more sleeping for that long, okay?"

"Not so far." He shook his head. "It's been four months for me, and longer for some people."

He didn't mind being labeled 'new' that much. And if people didn't want him around because he hadn't started out in this world, then fine, he didn't want to hang out with them, either. But some of the inconveniences were annoying.

"We don't have to bring them back right away," he said, grinning as they walked. "I won't sleep long if you don't. Joe and Xact would make us wake up anyway."
