To the Lake for a Picnic

Summary: Itachi's been curious about the lake for a while. Perhaps Kisame can tell them more with his own unique gifts.

Itachi and Sasuke arrived together. It was close to nightfall, but they had some time. Itachi had figured it was worthwhile to see if the transition from day to Darkness would make a difference, but it was best to do their initial investigation during the failing daylight hours.
Itachi looked out over the calm water of the lake, his black and red cloak swirling around his feet as the wind caught at it with greedy hands. It didn't look dangerous. Was it possible that the Core was underneath this mirrored surface?
