[This was a good thing to happen in the lull, and Snow was glad for the red dress she had gotten for it. Red had always been her color, if she was to be perfectly honest.
For now, though, she'll be sitting on the side, watching everyone around.]
There's something I need to tell you, Jack. Several things, actually, that you need to know, before you and Alice formally get married. But... [She sighs.]
I'm breaking rules by telling you. And I don't have the rulebook in front of me, not for this.
I know you won't. But you have to understand... it's dangerous, for people, if anyone were to find out about us. [She should explain us....] And for Alice? It's even more dangerous, because it's not just about the people around her. She's not always of a stable mind.
[This is tough, but she knows Jack can handle it.] Wonderland is real, Jack. Alice is what we call a Fable. She's from a story, but that doesn't mean it's not real. It is real, people just don't know it.
[A pause. He glances down between them, thinking.]
She . . . told me somethin' about this. About Fables, and . . . she said it meant you two were immortal. But . . . what do you mean, story? Like-- like a world? Or--? And it can't be-- I mean, I love her, but it's in her head. I know it is, I have my own place like that in my head, we both go back there when we're scared.
[It's not so much that he doesn't believe her; rather, he sounds puzzled, trying to work this out.]
We are immortal, in our own way. I've heard some Fables guess that the more popular a story, the harder it is to die. Personally, I do believe that, but only because I... I was shot and I survived. I survived a bullet to my head. [She lifted her hand up, brushing back her hair to show the scar, there, before letting it drop.]
It's not in her head, Jack. We call them the Homelands, it's where all Fables come from. They're all connected by these magical gates. I know it sounds crazy. But it's not. I've been to Wonderland, my sister and I went through it when we escaped from the Homelands. It's real, Jack. It's not some story she made up. It's all real. But everyone knows the stories, too.
[She pauses.] My real name isn't Snow Blancheur. It's Snow White.
For now, though, she'll be sitting on the side, watching everyone around.]

Most definitely. Let's put them all in their places.

Course I'm a peasant. Peasants are always more interestin' anyway, they got more life experience.
Reply
Oh, absolutely. [She had grown up as a peasant, after all.]
It's only when the peasant becomes a prince that life gets crazy for them.
