I hear you.
Moving about. Scrabbling, stealing, hating, wishing, fearing.
I hear all of it.
In terms of idioms, blindness is equated with ignorance. Darkness, with evil, with being lost.
Hearing it all - listening, studying - I have come to understand human nature.
Most everyone is blind. As in foolish.
And most are in the dark.
Those who would malign me, underestimate me, they have not come to understand.
In the darkness, the less evolved trip and fall.
In the darkness, the less evolved believe what they see.
It is true, I used to have faith, love and luck.
Back when I was blind. [And that is a very bitter laugh.]
Now I understand it. Everyone should endeavor to be more like me.
Do not fear the darkness. The truth is inside of it - the reality of what you can touch and hear or understand.
I can show you. I am the only one who truly understands.
I will find you. I will show you that you have nothing to fear.
[There is a pause, and a flicker in one corner of the screen. Two yellow eyes, for one brief moment.]
I will take your eyes, of course. [So flippant, it's not really a big deal, right?]
You will no longer be needing them.
This city will know darkness eternally.
Because of me, the city will be free of fear forever. [There's that superior tone again.] You will thank me soon enough.
[OOC: Snake's Shadow is a formless, creeping darkness that only briefly shows yellow eyes at times.
Its primary attack is to blind people, wrapping their head in shadow to dissolve people's eyes in their skulls.]
