But he couldn't do that. He knew if any of his friends from back home were there they would have smacked him upside his head and told him to suck up, which was exactly what he was trying to do.
The exhaustion wasn't helping that any, though, and he was just staring at the boxes in front of him until he got ran in to. He grunted, turning to snap at the person who did it... until he saw who it was.
"Whoa, Clarie!"

"Hey, Duo. Sorry about that." She was glad she hadn't run into an elderly person or a child. Not that she was happy that she'd run into somebody she was acquaintances with, though.
"Long time, no see." Well, technically for only one of them. Her eyes quickly trailed down the length of his hair. That was a first- on a guy, anyway. Was that the style in space? Either way, it was definitely a unique style.

Yes, he had been looking. With what had happened to him, and all the talk of the new monsters, he'd been doing checkups on his friends (except Ion, who was still in the hospital) and had managed to find most of them the morning after his attack on the 6th. Except Fai and Claire. Fai at least was confirmed as having been sent back, but Claire on the other hand...
"Pro'ly nothing, though. You were busy, didn't pick up or whatever."

He wasn't exactly keen about talking about his experience either, but he did kind of make it known that something had happened thanks to his post on the network.

She rubbed the back of her hand. "It was pretty gross, though, so you were probably better off not seeing it."

"Wish I could say you were right 'bout that, but I've already seen one..."

"What happened?" Hopefully he'd managed to not get too hurt.

"Got stupid and tried to race home after the sirens. Damn thing found me 'round the corner just before I got back to my apartment and... well... let's just say I'm lucky I ain't missin' an arm."

"Yeah, those things are dangerous. It's easy for them to catch you off guard." Good thing for her that she could regenerate, hiding all scars from her injuries.
