Christmas. It wasn't something that Rachel celebrated back home outside of Glee Club and Finn. Of course that was mostly because she was Jewish and her dads had always reminded her of the importance of being proud of who she was. Not that she had anything against Christmas. Nothing outside of the obvious, anyways.

When she found herself in this place and living with Kurt and Blaine, finding out that the timing had been so different to what it was in Lima had been one of about a million things that had surprised her and confused her. It was Christmastime and that was weird to her (though it explained the strange chill outside which didn't make too much sense when it was supposed to be so close to summer), but it wasn't entirely unpleasant. If this really wasn't some kind of dream and was instead an adventure to leave her more prepared to write lifesaving music and the best memoirs that anyone has read since... well, since nothing else, since Rachel Berry was never going to be a second best-- her memoirs would be on the New York Best Seller's list and her albums would be on Billboard's Top 100 list and she, of course, would be performing on Broadway for as long as she wanted. It helped her to think of this place as a kind of stepping stone to get her to where she wanted to be.

All of that aside, though, Kurt and Blaine had been great hosts so far. It was almost like having two dads here, too, except that Kurt and Blaine dressed better than her dads and didn't argue over bills and whose turn it was to make sure that all of the toiletries were properly stocked in their bathroom or who had been looking at the mailman a little bit too long. Also she was older than Blaine, so it wasn't exactly the same thing. But pretty much. They were both a little bit different than she'd remembered them as before and that would have been weird if they hadn't explained that they were from the future-- well, honestly it was still pretty weird, but most of the novelty had worn off.

Blaine and Kurt could also sing a lot better than her dads could, and being in an apartment with two people who were almost as talented as she was, was her favourite thing about being stuck in this place. Really, it was what made it feel the most like home, and hanging out with them was... well, it made her feel a lot safer than she did at any other time in this place. Not that she would admit something like that. She was a strong woman, after all, and it was important that she was known for being one.

Finding herself in a shopping mall with Blaine Warbler-- Blaine, she had to remind herself that he was a part of their Glee family now-- she couldn't help the curious stops she kept making to look at the stores they were passing. It looked the same as any regular mall that she'd seen before, just... well, Canadian, she supposed. It did put her in a little of a better mood, remembering that the last time that she'd been in a mall, Puck and Kurt had worked surprisingly hard to make her smile.

Pushing her skirt down in a movement that served to help rid her of a little bit of extra energy that she couldn't quite get rid of, and pausing in her humming of "Merry Christmas Darling", she turned to Blaine with a smile.

"So are you having trouble shopping for Kurt here?"
