Angeal's days have been unproductive so far, though he has attempted to locate a job in the few days he has been here. His afternoons are spent chatting with Cloud, something he has easily come to enjoy as he learns a little more about the third Buster Sword handler, and as they both work on setting the sword back on the right track to being cleaned and shining like new again. Soon, he had joked, it would he hard to tell apart which one was his and which one was theirs.

But, perhaps, it did not quite matter as much.

In some ways he had come to rely on the other, the little money spent and the care package bartered to gather sword cleaning supplies- His pride and honor came first, after all- instead of eating. For the past few days Angeal has managed to do a few odd jobs here and there, not something he could put on a resume, but something to get by.

The man makes his way down the street now, eyes sliding from one building to the next to pick out where he should try in this sector- one he had not been in before, and he was starting to think that perhaps the Buster Sword may of better been left in the apartment. Not only did he stand out, it did not seem like the type of place that welcomed or was use to weapons out in the open, unlike the poorer sectors.

Genesis never really paid much attention to the people that surrounded him. Although he does admit there are often pretty faces in the crowd. As he walks down the road today, though, he notices something he didn't expect to see: the Buster Sword strapped on to someone's back-- its intricate hilt glimmering in the sunlight. Immediately, Genesis darted towards this man-- practically tackling him down as he grabbed the man's shoulder and spun him around to see who it was.

"Angeal!"

Expect the unexpected, had been the advice the young lady had given him at the hospital, but who could of thought that, out of all the people here on this street, at this time, brought here to this world... That flash of red hair would come darting toward him, that superhuman strength would pull him around and almost into the wall.

The wall he avoids by letting his shoulder take the brunt of it, reflexively keeping his sword from harm before his hand goes to the person now in front of him's shoulder, falling hard onto it before he gets to look at the other, and surprise crosses Angeal's face like a bolt of lightning.

It couldn't be. It was. "Genesis-"

Genesis' throat went dry at the recognition. Suddenly, they were both silent, tentative on what each was going to say. It was as if they were letting reality sink into each other at that moment before Genesis parted his lips to attempt to speak.

But instead of speaking, he presses forward to tightly embrace his long lost friend.

Genesis was dead, he had heard as much before Zack had come to him. Then again, was he not suppose to be dead as well? It was hard to comprehend, as everything here had been- the subtle meanings of a new bearer of his sword, how things around here worked.

But Angeal finds himself not caring about any of that just for one moment, a moment long enough to put his arms around Genesis and embrace him tightly, not even daring to breath or ask him what he was doing here in case the illusion broke.

Genesis didn't even care if there were people looking at them or those hateful murmurs of some onlookers. This was Angeal-- the same good friend that he thought was dead so long ago. He held him even tighter now, his arms firm around the bigger man's body as he breathed in his scent, recognizing that familiar musk and scent from long ago.

"Angeal..."

He eventually has to breathe, and Genesis is still there when he exhales slowly though his nose, or when he blinks and better focus on the other. Still there, here now... He is almost at a loss as to what to say, and feels almost instantly guilty that he had not responded to Sephiroth the night of his return.

"You're here." You're alive, really, and he is sure that the same thought is going though the other's mind. His hands come up to Genesis' shoulders, letting him get a good look at the other. "How long...?"

"I've been here for a few months already. Sephiroth is here, too. We've been living together," Genesis admits with just the slightest flush on his cheeks.

"I still can't believe it. It feels like a dream to see you here." At that, Genesis raised a hand to cup Angeal's cheek, feeling the firm skin and muscle there.

Months, then, and it made sense in the way that nothing made sense here, the fact that it was ten (or so, the system was not quite the same) years from when he had been... well, there, in the middle of that fight. Angeal briefly leans into Genesis' touch for a moment before letting himself pull away.

Guilt will not let him stay too close; In the end, he had still failed to get help for his best friend. But he can not even bring that up right now, unsure as how to.

"...I hope you two have been taking care of each other." His words are a little bit teasing, in the way that was purely Angeal. Focus on the now, and they could come back to the past later. "I hope, at least. I've only been here for a short while and already know how rough it is."

"We've grown accustomed to it," Genesis grins, patting his friend on the back. While Angeal seemed to want to back away, Genesis moves closer in response, not wanting him to get away from him.

"Come home with me? I'm sure Sephiroth would love to see you again. We've missed you."

There isn't much closer they could be pressed- Angeal could pull away if he pushed the other off, as he hadn't let his back to the wall, but he would never do to his friend, even more so not after everything else.

"Genesis..." Unsureness shows in the man's tone now, tilting his head down to set eyes on the other. He can't say no to the other, but at the same time he isn't sure it is the best idea, and that thought is communicated between them easily.

Indeed, despite how the years have separated them, Genesis could still notice the nuances in his friend's tone and expression-- how his unsure feelings came to fore in subtle ways.

"Angeal..." his tone leans towards pleading now as he continues to stay close to his friend. "What is on your mind?"

This isn't something they really should talk about here, on the crowded sidewalk as people passed by, but how does Angeal even begin to explain how he was feeling? It was hard to nail down, even for him who was so usually level headed and able to look at the situation outside of himself.

And he knows he is not going to be able to get away without an answer, either. So he tries. "I'm glad you're here, I'm glad you and Sephrioth are alright, but... I failed you both."

He can't look at the other to say such, and Angeal has to look away.

Genesis had to frown at his friend's remark. While it was naturally all Angeal to take the blame, Genesis didn't feel that this was right at all. He grabs his friend by the shirt and gives him a little shake to at least draw his attention back to him.

"You didn't. I went mad, and I let you follow me out of my own selfish whims. You did not fail us, Angeal."

His grip lightened a little then.

"This is our second chance. We can set everything behind us and start anew."

"Genesis..."

He doesn't know what to say to him, to those impassioned words. In a way it felt like he was more responsible than even the people who created them- His mother, Hollander- For the injury that had caused everything.

But at the same time, it was a second chance, something they would never have, even if Angeal had not passed on the sword like he should of. Or had he? His hands come up to cover Genesis' grabbing his shirt, both to hold and to calm the other.

"...I'm not going anywhere." He'll stay with Genesis, if not just to make it up to him, Sephiroth as well. "We can...start again."

"Then will you come home with me? Stay for dinner? So you can see Sephiroth, too."

Genesis moved his hands now to take Angeal's own, gripping them tightly as if they were afraid he would fly away if he let go.
