I put a shield upon you, I didn't mean to hurt you--

Who: Ra's al Ghul and you~
When: Mostly after sirens on Sunday night - but also one Saturday thread, and open for threads for the rest of the week.
Where: In the Darkness across the city
Summary: Ra's goes out to investigate the Darkness for himself--with a special interest in the people who go out to fight it.
Warnings: Violence and monster guts

The Darkness was as cloying and unpleasant as he'd expected it to be. It stank like decay and rotting flesh; the same aroma that had caught in his throat during his most recent, most unpleasant visit to Gotham. Corruption. It was exactly as the Greeter and the other inquisitive posts to the Network had said: the decay had appeared within minutes of the siren, spreading over everything, the stench of it
infecting every corner.

Ra's' nostrils flared, and he pulled his mask into place. Even through it, the smell was almost unbearable; making his eyes prickle. It wasn't anything he couldn't ignore, but it was dramatically different to the clear air of his mountain home, and something he'd have to become used to--at least for as long as he had to.

There was no doubt about it. If Gotham was overdue for removal from the surface of the world, then there was no doubt that Siren's Port needed to be destroyed too. It was so corrupt that the corruption manifested at night in this Darkness and its monsters. Yet even here there were costumed fools rising to the challenge. Vigilantes. Ra's had seen himself how much one man could do, and this time he would not underestimate them--any of them.

So he dressed as one tonight, in a manner of speaking. He disguised himself, covered his face, and went from rooftop to rooftop like some
overgrown alleycat, studying the Darkness and its reach, testing the Darkness proofing of empty buildings to see how long it took the
creeping corruption to slip inside. He wore all black -- the suit that he had 'died' in, and a few items that he had stolen from a costume shop; a black balaclava and a pair of black suede gauntlets, with zinc motifs painted up to look like a useful metal. For appearances sake, they would do, but proper armour would have to be a priority--the monsters out here could not be fought with costume shop apparel, and he
did not expect people to go out of their way to take him seriously in this.

Ra's kept quiet, held close to shadows, and hoped that his patience would pay for itself. It wasn't only the local wildlife that he was hoping to observe tonight.
