HOST Table: Open forgingtorch October 30 2011, 02:58:45 UTC
[After a zombie waitress has just retrieved the empty glass in front of her, Elaine adjusts her silk cape, shifting on her seat slightly.]

Do you think the cloak was a little... over the top?

[She asks, jokingly, to Morpheus and whoever has decided to join them. From his family or hers.]

[ He arrived some time ago, a subtle presence maneuvering about the vast crowd with ease. Hooded and cloaked, the face beneath is hidden -- for show more than anything else.

When he passes by, the slightest of smiles tilts the corner of his mouth. He does not speak, merely inclines his head, acknowledging the hosts.

You know him, don't you? ]

[ Elaine's smile grows larger when she spots him. Of course she recognises him without a second glance. She knows as well as he does that their bodies are just convenient projections of how they wish to appear. ]

Hey -- Sit with us.

[ She's right. Real and tangible though this form may be, it is far from his true face.

Hands folded within his robes, his voice is softer, but mostly the same. ]

You honor me.

Please.

[ Elaine gestures to any of the empty seats. Destiny and Dream are sitting at both of her sides. ]

Let there be no ceremony between us.

[ He smiles briefly. ]

Very well.

[ He chooses a seat beside Destiny, but will not remain for too long -- the night is young, and it is with the people, especially, he would like to be. ]

Would you like something to drink or eat?

[She offers as the hostess. She knows he doesn't need that. But he might want it for the sake of the costume.]

[ It's true; he doesn't need it. Still -- ]

Water, for now.

[ He probably won't ask for anything else, but it's the thought that counts. ]

[ She flags a waitress to bring Aslan his request. ]

I'm glad you made it and your costume is very clever.

[ Oh, Elaine, you flatter him. Compared to what he could have done with himself, this is one of the simplest options by far.

He smiles nonetheless. ]

There are far better.

[ Like hers, for instance. ]

[ It's neat for the simplicity of it. ]

Intricate doesn't mean better.

[ ...well, yes. Only those who know him, though, will really, truly understand it. ]

Perhaps not.

[ He smiles lightly. ]

How do you fare?

Better.

[It had been a difficult month, even for her.]

What about you?

[Destiny sits with them, a stooped figuregarbed in white robes, a bird mask (or was it a skull) peeking out from beneath the shadow of the cowl, and prickly branches poking out from his back and head. The chain remains around his wrist, as does his book remain a constant in his presence. He has taken to observing the party, taking in the sounds and watching everything unfold on the pages spread before him.]

It is not.

[cloaks are tasteful and classy, but Destiny would never say so]

Thanks. I like yours too.

[There is something humorous to realize that Destiny is the least flamboyant of the three of them.]

What do you think?

[Of the party and the people.]

Hardly.

[Pfft. As if Dream is any judge. His Cloaks are ALWAYS over the top. You can hardly wear a cloak INSIDE your other garments, now, can you?]

It looks to be a grand evening.
