As much as Blaine wanted to spend every second of the day at the hospital, the staff would periodically kick him out to check on Kurt or to insist he eat something or get some sleep. He had told Kurt he had plans with a friend, the girl who had saved his life the night of the black out, and left when the nurses came in to make sure Kurt was healing well.
He had been feeling much better since the conversation they had had about starting over. He was optimistic for the first time since coming to the Port and it meant that he was in a better mood when he texted Fred to let her know he was on the way to the cafe and would see her soon.
When he arrived he looked around, checking to see if she had gotten there before him.
