Sometimes freedom makes it hard to live;

Oct 18, 2011 23:44

Who: Riku and Yazoo
When: Backdated to October 5th
Where: Around the sector 6/4 line
Summary: In the Darkness, there are monsters. Some just happen to be more tamed than others.

[It feels like every day has been a repeat of itself for some time now. Yazoo prowls the streets for Xino at night, reports back in the morning before heading to the Church or to Outer Heaven. Time is passed-sleep on occasion, aimless wandering- before he does it all over again. He and Kadaj have little interaction with the rest of the port, the warnings of 'Don't cause trouble.' ever there and hanging over their heads. But it doesn't really matter, they don't need anyone else, so long as they have the Family.

Was this what life was?

Yazoo had only experienced two weeks of it before coming here, consumed with the thoughts of finding Mother. The thoughts still came to him, would never really leave him, but the urge was less strong, not as demanding. And yet with all of this supposed freedom, he finds himself simply failing to find to fill it with.

He was lost, perhaps, and just didn't know it yet.

It was another one of those cycles; Thin out the monsters (finding it easy to do so without need to reload), prowl the streets on his preset route and stop any attacks seen, that he followed today, his sector well protected anyway because of where it was located. There was little he knew of human politics, of money and meanings it had, but Yazoo knew the difference between those who had no worries about their darkness proofing failing and those who woke up to every noise of it had much to do with where they were placed, the way the buildings looked.

He isn't sure if he cares at all. ]
