With the port easily seen through her orb, Caster found some of the citizens reacting unusually once more. However, the scene that caught her eye was the sudden presence of an activated power, which flickered and stirred in the air as crisp as cigarette smoke. She focuses on the area, bringing clarity and vivid detail to a young man seated in the middle of a road in Sector 7.
She could leave him alone, but she had time. It wouldn’t be out of her way.
Transportation set her a short distance down the pathway behind him, out of his line of vision. After all, she wouldn’t want the young man to think that she just appeared out of nowhere.
She assumes a quick pace as she heads towards him, calling out to him softly in an effort to avoid startling him:]Oh, my. What are you doing all the way out here? Don't you know that it is dangerous to ( ... )

[Griffin roughly rubs his hands over his face, pulling himself together. Once he realizes what happened, he feels infinitely stupid. These are things he did as a child, he should be long past this phase.
The voice may be soft, but it still startles Griffin. He jolts and turns to look over his shoulder, finding a hooded figure at the end of the road. Well that's not ominous at all.]
I...
[He gets to his feet. When he snatches up his blanket, he realizes that he must look about as childish as he feels. God damn it.]
Sleepwalking. Must have been.

Where do you live? Allow me to accompany you back. [It isn't a demand. Her voice is gentle, likening it a request out of concern rather than an order.]

[He cranes his neck and squints, not even trying to hide the fact that he's trying to get a look under her hood.]
Who the hell are you anyway?

Really, now, that's no way to ask for someone's name. [She lets out a soft sigh.]
We should probably get moving though, before any creatures decide to pay us a visit. So, come. Let us walk, and I'll tell you. Or, if you simply cannot bear to be in my company, then at the very least, you need to start moving. [A pause.]
You must be cold wearing only that. [She refers to his current clothing, better suited for sleepwear, with a light tilt of her head.]

Best way I know. And I told you, I'm fine. I like the cold.
[Lies. But he has to walk until at least she buzzes off so he can Jump back to bed. So walk with her he does.]

[Her heels click once against the ground as she slows to a stop and turns towards him.]
Stand still.
[Bringing her hand to the front of her robe, she clutches at the fabric and gingerly pulls it off her body. Folds of black and bluish-purple cloth flutter, briefly screening her face once more, as she extends her arms with the intention of drawing the cloak around the boy's shoulders.]
Don't be frightened now. [It's a facetious remark, made in reference to her sudden action and her elf-like ears that are now visible together with her blue hair and eyes.]

Lady, if you think you're the weirdest thing I've seen here, you're gonna be disappointed. And I don't need that.

Oh, that's absurd. You decided to go for a walk, in the cold, in those clothes, and now you decide to head back home like nothing's wrong. If you keep that up, you'll just wind up catching something.
[ She gives another sigh. ]
You said that you can get home fine by yourself, right? Then I won't go any further with you, but I won't go anywhere until you accept this. It's warmer, and I won't have to worry about you as much.

[She really isn't wrong in her squirrel comparison. Griffin is twitchy and looks ready to flee at any given second. This squirrel just happens to have a really awful attitude.
He looks down at the cloak. He then raises his eyes to her with a smirk and a head tilt that is full of attitude. He scoffs and walks right past her, without taking it. Griffin has a hard enough time accepting kindness from his friends. No way in hell he'll take it from a stranger. Especially in the dead of night in this town. He addresses her without looking at her.]
You're going to give yourself a heart attack, you keep worrying about people around here.

Without her robe, her long, blue dress, dark gloves, and elegant demeanor seem strikingly out-of-place with their unsavory surroundings, and she would personally rather not stay for long herself. However, she meant it when said that she wasn't going anywhere until he accepted it. ]
You say that like it's hopeless. [ Since he was clearly intent on remaining obstinate for now, she shifts to drape the robe over her left arm, mindful not to let the ends of it touch the ground that would easily sully it. ]

[Griffin casts a sidelong glance.]
I could report you for stalking.

[ Caster briefly runs her gaze around their surroundings, taking it in and mentally noting little details to herself. ]
What are you going to do if a creature of the Darkness attacks?
Reply
[Griffin shrugs, somehow arrogant even in his exposed condition.]
I'm going to attack right back.

Are you mad? What will happen if you run into more than one? And you do realize that it's 4 degrees out here, don't you? Do you want to catch pneumonia?
