[From his position on the roof he squeezes the trigger on his handgun and is met by the death wail of his target. He cannot make out what it is, but the creature collapses to the ground. Tomorrow, he knows, it will be back. He fires into it one more time, simply to make sure it is really dead. The violence of the act brings him no pleasure.
After a moment, he reholsters the weapon at his hip and continues on his way, into the night. He is looking for anyone who may need help. Or anyone who may want to talk. Keeping to himself is more difficult than he ever dreamed it would be. It is becoming harder for him to keep his own thoughts together.]
