[Michael wasn't actively seeking them out but merely blindly followed the light they provided. The last few days had wrenched at his heart more than his arrival had and Michael was content just to be near them. It could very well be the last chance he ever felt this close to his own God ( ... )

[Elaine perceives his presence. How could she not? Even if blood no longer bounds them together and this Michael is not the one she once upon a time called her father, it’s impossible to miss him. He radiates sadness and turmoil. She does not look closely out of respect for his privacy. In her act of willful blindness, she does not see the seed of doubt that starts to grow in his heart.

She perks her ears up and halts to invite him to approach. She knows that her companion will understand and perhaps he will join them.

Michael seems so lonely right now.]

A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS?

[Her voice sounds unlike before. Grave and encompassing. It’s the voice she used once in the first world she successfully made. The voice she employed towards the people who thought the Creator was a Wolf named Arooon.]

[ He knows.

Though it has never been Aslan's way to flaunt who and what he is, he has never tried to limit himself. To be careful in his exercise of power, yes, but never willful blindness. He has ever been a guide, one who would be a light in the deepest darkness, and the only way to do so is to know people's hearts and the troubles that assail them.

He sees what he sees, and when he stops with his companion, there is a heaviness in his heart upon looking at Michael's face.

For now he says nothing. Should Michael choose to join them, however, he will welcome him all too gladly. ]

[For a moment he just stands there watching both of them before moving closer. Of course they would know he was troubled but Michael could never say his doubts out loud. To say them out loud would be like cementing those doubts in the world and he wasn't ready for that just yet.

He stops short of them basking in their presence.]

I'd rather not discuss my thoughts at this time. [Despite the fact that it was blunt Michael's tone was polite.]

[Lucifer appears behind Michael, silent but certain he'll be noticed anyway. He looks at Aslan, and then at Elaine. He's tenser around Michael, but also somehow younger, almost hopeful. He steps forward to stand beside the other angel and smiles lazily]

You found my brother.

[ Her weariness has been forgotten by the earlier race. It was a reminder she needed about her own absoluteness and how easily can galaxies fade and die with a swipe of her paw. It is easier to comfort Michael’s heavy heart with her lifted spirits.

Elaine accepts his decision without exchanging a word. She waits for him to stay or approach at the distance he finds comfortable. She welcomes Lucifer’s arrival with the acknowledgment of her gaze. She too invites him to approach if he wants. ]

HE WAS NEVER LOST.

[ Maybe he is just finding his path to them. ]

[ He acknowledges Lucifer as well, his gaze no less warm despite the angel's fallen state.

Looking from one to the other, his words are addressed to both. ]

The day is still young.

[ Should the brothers choose to join them, their company will be welcome. ]

[He tensed the moment he felt Lucifer at his back, not because Michael expected his brother to attack but simply because he was most definitely the being Michael didn't want to express his doubts to. While it's true that Lucifer would understand them his brother might encourage them - twist them so he thought as his younger brother thought and that was the last thing Michael wanted.

It was when Lucifer moved to his side that Michael looked over at him. There's no smile for his younger brother but there's also no sign of open hostility.]

I believe you're the one who found me, brother. [Seeing as he had sought out Elaine and Aslan. He turns back to the two beings before them.] Do you do this often?

This? [Gesturing vaguely at the gods] No. But we've met a few times.

[What's remarkable is there's no real loathing in Lucifer's voice as he mentions them. There's not even much disgust; he almost sounds as if he's introducing the Winchesters, whom he rather likes, as much as he likes anyone these days.] You know Aslan, and Elaine already?

[ Elaine stretches a little as she watches the brothers mingle and talk amongst themselves. She can sense the spark of tension in the air. But she's glad when the unease fades. Or at least is toned down enough to make the conversation civil.

She observes them next to Aslan, unwilling to interrupt now they seem amicable with each others. They have all met. It's a small, crowded island and all paths lead to the Core she'd rather avoid. ]

[ Fixing Michael with his stare, there is something grave yet joyful in that golden face when he gives his quiet answer. ]

It is the first.

[ With more to come after, he is certain. Listening to the angels, he says no more, just watching as they converse. ]
