EMP: EVENT START - reaction and mingling log

Where: All over the Port.
Summary: The EMP event has begun. There are no sirens. What will your character do?

[Blaine hasn't been feeling very well since he ran out of the pills. He can't sleep again, and he feels sick, but he still ends to function. He doesn't mean to be out this close to dark, but without the sirens he gets caught out.

He doesn't have any weapons and the panic makes him push away how desperate and sick he feels. The only thing he can do is try to find a place to hide, but as the Darkness surrounds him there's nothing that he can do on his own.]

[There's blood on Fred. Some of it nay be hers. She looks tired and worn, but she's fought off a few of these things. It's at some point she sees the young man being cornered. Fred doesn't ask, she just acts. Using her axe, she diflects the attention of the Darkness away from him.

There's several minutes of a violent struggle before the thing slumps to the floor and lies motionless.] You okay?

[mediumdrip]

[It takes Blaine a moment to realize he's been saved.] I'm... [He's in one piece, but panic choking him means that he's not exactly 'okay'. Blaine goes to her, checking her out because of the blood, but he's so grateful to] Are you? Thank you. Thank you so much.

[aintnorain]

[He's just a boy. Fred moves to put an arm around him.] I'm Fred. And I can promise you're safe now. Where do you live? Is there anywhere you can go that's safe?

[mediumdrip]

I'm Blaine. [He tells her where his small apartment is. It's not even really that far, but there's no way he can make it alone and unarmed]

[aintnorain]

[With one hand holding her axe, she started leading him to where he said he lived. It wasn't too far, but she wasn't going to leave him alone.] You don't need to go to the hospital, do you?

[mediumdrip]

No. I don't think so. You came before... Thank you so much. [He's quiet, worried that talking too loudly is going to attract more attention.]

[aintnorain]

[She smiled at him, trying to comfort him before something lunged at them. Fred almost screamed but instead swung the axe to hack at the thing instead.]

[mediumdrip]

[Blaine ducked let her take the swing and looked for something, anything that he could use to help defend them.]

[aintnorain]

[She couldn't to hack until it stopped writhing on the ground. Fred took his hand again.] Come on. Let's make a run for it.

[mediumdrip]

[Blaine holds onto her and runs with her, getting as far as he can as quickly as he can manage given that he still feels sick.]

[aintnorain]

[She gives him a reassuring smile before they make a dash for it, trying to dodge any black things out there. About a block away she stops short at a building and holding her axe up, she peers around. There are screams near by, but she wants to get Blaine home safely first.]

[mediumdrip]

[Blaine jerks at the scream.] I... I think I can make it from here. [Though he doesn't sound certain of that at all.]

[aintnorain]

No. [She states firmly.] Come on. We're almost there.

[mediumdrip]

[Blaine nods and hurries to his apartment. He's still fumbles and almost falls, but he manages.]

[She tries to help him along until they reach his building.] It's darkness proofed, right?
