AGI RECRUITMENT PARTY - 3 pm until 6:30 pm

AGI has sent some of its most charismatic recruiters, company representatives, and hottest entertainers down to the Uzushio for a three and a half hour bash open to all Newcomers. Every bath is open for guests to heat up or cool down. Dishes of snacks and sushi are set out all over the place. The bar is open and the girls are beautiful in their elegant and alluring kimono.

This thread is open to everyone. Mingle with other guests in between reading AGI propaganda brochures or being entertained by your hosts.

[The girls may be beautiful in their kimonos, but Jack simply looks ridiculous in his. Or so he thinks, anyway, and scowls, imagining the entire party is snickering at him. He holds a platter of drinks in one hand and wanders around the party carefully, his free hand activating his sonar device, allowing him to see enough not to run into anyone.]

[Well, he can use sonar or what the heck ever now, but Rin has no idea if he can recognize her face to face. In one of the lulls she bumps into him, speaking in a low voice:]

Let's talk.

[He swallows.]

Hi. Here, come back to the kitchen with me--

All right.

[She rests her hand on his forearm briefly, the light touch maybe belying the reserve still in her voice. She can't quite believe he can navigate himself, even though he's been managing.]

[He follows her easily enough, his breathing a little too fast. He's never been good at emotional situations; he's always said the wrong thing or made an idiot of himself or made everyone angry.

He waits until the last of the staff leaves before rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.]

[It hasn't really been all that long, objectively, since they've had face time. But it feels like longer.]

[He rubs at his nose next.]

I do miss you, you know.

Miss me doing what? It's not like I was around all that much. We have different things going on.

Doesn't matter. You were still--

[He glances down, closing his eyes as he tries to word this properly.]

You were still my sister. I still cared a hell o' a lot about you. I still do. I always will.

[That... hits her. She puts her sleeve up against her eyes to wipe away where she's already tearing up, damn it, damn it no -]

I have no family. None of us should really be trusting each other.

You got me.

[He hesitates for a moment before reaching forward, one hand on her arm.]

Listen to me. I know a lot about not havin' family, about-- about makin' it on your own. But I also know you can't just live life on your own. And-- and I know I make a lotta mistakes, okay, I know I ain't the smartest guy in the world, but believe me, Rin, I care about you. Okay? I'd do anythin' for you. And I trust you with my life.

[She... winces when he touches her. She's obviously crying a bit, or on the way to it; Rin can't hide things like that.]

Look at Matt. He disappeared, and so did Sasuke. Yuffie and Nami are still around, but who knows how long? And when did you last hear from Reeve? Did any of them choose to leave?
